Title: We are his workmanship / Ephesians 2:1-10

Content: We are his workmanship / Ephesians 2:1-10

Key Verse: “By grace ye have faith… It is a gift from God” (verse 8).

God made us alive through the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 2:5,8). We, who were dead in our trespasses, were grafted into Christ and made alive by God. It is entirely by the grace of God that we are alive again (Ephesians 2:5,8). Grace is ‘kindness given freely even though you do not deserve it’. We need to pay attention to the words of Ephesians 2:8, “By faith we are saved.” This verse means that the condition of salvation is faith. You must believe in Jesus Christ to not perish but to have eternal life (John 3:16). Therefore, we must grow our faith through meditation on the Word, prayer, service, and evangelism. We should praise and give thanks for the grace of redemption.

What is God's purpose in saving us? Two things should be noted in Ephesians 2:10. First, it is the fact that all of us Christians are ‘the work of his work’. We are all masterpieces of God designed and made by God. But it is unfinished. It is blasphemy to God to see and criticize unfinished life. We should pray, encourage, and praise in anticipation of how it will gradually transform into a finished work. Then God will heal them one by one. As a result, it will make it your most spectacular masterpiece. The second is the fact that He made us for good works. God wants the work of salvation to continue through all of us who are saved. He wants this land to be filled with freedom, peace and joy. Let us all do our best to not only exalt the Lord, but also to expand the kingdom of heaven with pride in the fact that it is a masterpiece of God that God has created because it is so necessary in this age.

Prayer: As creatures made in the image of God, love and encourage each other, so that we may fulfill the mission you have been called to. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
