The city, rebuilt by Hiel in Ahab"s reign (822-790 B.C.) was captured by the Herodians (3 B.C.) and rebuilt by Archelaus (A.D. 2). This was the Jericho of our Lord"s day, which was destroyed by Vespasian, 7 A.D.
