3 things you need to keep strong
2 Thessalonians (6) 3 things to strengthen (2 Thessalonians 2:13-17)
1. Hold fast to the gospel
Saying “You have no faith!” when there is no healing after a healing prayer is a sinister act that hurts the sick double and triple. Now, don't entrust your soul to psychotherapy that says, "Believe that you are healed!" You prefer to pray rather than being prayed, and when you pray for healing, try not to change your faith with “faith”, but with “faith in God.” You will experience true grace only when you hold on to the Gospel like that.
2. Establish good works
In 1992, when the time-limited eschatology craze broke out, many people quit their jobs and came to church to just pray and evangelize. Of course, you have to work hard for the church. However, you must not abandon your work and come to church to live. Full-time ministers should be able to live in the church according to their calling, but ordinary people should not live like that. God wants each of us to do our best in our work and professions, while at the same time doing our best in serving the church.
3. Strengthen your good words
The Apostle Paul challenges the Thessalonians to be firm in every good work and firm in the good word (v. 17). Instead of spreading fear and horror that the end is coming, say many words of comfort and hope to each other. Why did God allow good encounters? It means to comfort each other and live.
Comfort is helping someone mentally. What is the biggest job of a leader? It is to comfort the sheep. However, the leader comforts the flock, but often receives comfort from the flock. How blessed is your relationship? There is no iron soul strong enough to need no consolation in this world. Even strong people have many weaknesses. So everyone needs comfort.
