3 Ways to Overcome Anxiety
3 Ways to Overcome Anxiety
(Matthew 6:27-30)
1. Have the right thoughts
At the time of Jesus, the Jews were shorter than the Romans. So, with a sense of inferiority, “How do I get taller?” and worried But no matter how worried you are, your height will not grow. Worry is counterproductive and useless. There are things in life that are already over and there is nothing you can do about it. It is foolish to worry about such things. Then you have to find other good ways and more meaningful work and take action. Thoughts that fail to produce positive behavior are life-destroying tools.
When looking at a problem, you need to understand the problem as a whole rather than falling into it. Half the problems are solved just by understanding the problem well. People often see the trees but not the forest. So, look at the problem from a distance and ask yourself, “Is this really a permanent problem? Or is it a temporary problem?” So, you have to make sure you don't do more harm in the process of worrying than the consequences of worrying.
Why are the Word and prayer important? This is because, without the Word and prayer, the field of vision narrows and the eyes to see the problem as a whole become dark. Furthermore, if you ascend to the high ground of grace through the Word and prayer, you will be able to see the bright future beyond the problems. Then more than half of the problems are already solved. If you change your mind, your environment will change as well.
2. Realize grace and give thanks
When Jesus said, “Even in all the glory of Solomon, he was not dressed like a lily of the field” (verses 28-29), implying that God's true grace is hidden in what seems surprisingly small. There must be a blessed vision to find God's grace and thanksgiving in such small things.
People are usually concerned about eating problems, but it is not the eating that matters. If you do not eat rice for 40 days, you will live, but if you do not eat water for 4 days, you will die, and if you do not enter air for 4 minutes, you will die. In the end, the most important thing is air, but the grace of air is not well recognized. So God's grace is greater in the invisible. After all, people do not live because they are smart, but they live by the grace of God from beginning to end.
The saved saints have no freedom to go to hell. Considering that tremendous grace, the life of a believer is actually a traumatic life. Also, the saints owe not only the grace of salvation, but also the debt of grace every day. What terrible things would have happened if God had not taken hold of my spouse, children, and the steering wheel? Even now, God neither sleeps nor sleeps, and He watches over us like the pupil of the eye. If you think of that grace and do not lose gratitude and praise even in the midst of trials, the door of blessing will open wide at the most appropriate time.
3. Increase your faith
Worry arises at a time of lack of faith (verse 30). As faith increases, anxiety decreases. People usually tend to assume the worst, but they should live based on God's promised Word rather than 'family'. All you have to do is believe in that promise, fulfill your responsibilities, and leave the rest to God's responsibility. If you still have concerns after doing your best, it is your unbelief that you are trying to take on the responsibility of God. Therefore, if you develop your trust in God, you will have a stronger ability to overcome your worries.
The father of orphans in England, George Mueller, raised thousands of orphans, and had no money and no solid support foundation, so he was not alone with eating problems. However, he did not worry and trusted God and prayed. In the end, it is said that he received answers to his prayers every time he prayed, and more than 60,000 prayers were answered in his lifetime. he always said “The beginning of worry is the end of faith, and the beginning of faith is the end of anxiety.”
Sometimes prayers are delayed, work ends in failure, and when the heart hurts big, I want to give up on my dreams and visions. You mustn't give up though. Zechariah 9:12 says: “You who are in prison but have hope, return to the fortress, and I tell you today, I will repay you twice as much.” If someone betrays grace and causes great damage and injury, do not react negatively or groan in pain, and do not hate him, thinking that they are doing you a great favor now. They do it as a tool to give me a double blessing.
The Bible not only promises that our time will come, but it also promises to come with double blessings accompanied by joy, peace, and victory. Therefore, do not lose hope and declare, “I will never be defeated!” Although the fulfillment of our dreams may seem impossible to human eyes now, it is possible in God. No matter what someone criticizes or says negatively, if we do not give up our faith, our glorious time will come.
