Title: False Teachers
false teachers
Titus 1:10-16, chapter 187.313.395
This text deals with false teachers in great detail and should be studied diligently by all believers and churches.
1,They oppose the truth (verses 10-12), and the Crete churches as a whole had many false teachers, and this has been going on for centuries to this day. The church has had to fight false teachings to this day.
However, notice that false teachers come from within the church, not outside the church. They were of the Circumcision, that is, those who were -.very religious, (v. 10), - confessing to God, (v. 16), - turning the whole house upside down, (v. 11), at that time the churches were meeting at home.
They did not have a separate building for meetings. The point we should note is that they opposed the truth. 1) They did not obey. “Disobedient” means undisciplined, rebellious, disloyal, disobedient to God and the truth.
They did not want to obey God, the gospel, and the truth of God's Word. “Not everyone who says to me, lord or lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21), 2) They were vain talkers.
“He who speaks in vain” means one who speaks and teaches worthless things and who speaks of no use. They taught no one benefited anyone. It will continue to be so forever. Their teaching could not overcome sin and death.
3) They were deceivers. “A deceiver” means a deceiver or a misleader. They have misled themselves and others from the truth. They turned away from the truth and followed the false truth. 4) They were the Circumcision.
In other words, they were Jewish Christians who insisted on legalism. They admitted Christ, but refused to accept all the fullness of Christ and the cross. -.They rejected that Christ died for their sins.
-,They rejected the fact that God accepted them only through faith. 5) They had to shut their mouths. Their false teachings had to be stopped, but not in a physical way. The word “block” is curb.
It means to put on a bridle. 6) They turned the whole house upside down. In other words, they disintegrated and destroyed families. They turned people away from the truth and broke families. In some cases, it completely destroyed the faith of a family.
In that case, the whole family left the church and followed false teachings. Of course, this was their goal to get the false teachers to follow. 7) They taught them things they shouldn't have taught. 8) They pursued personal gain, that is, dirty teeth.
They entered the church and lived their faith life, teaching people the following false lessons. -.Acquiring means of livelihood or material, -.Getting fame, -.Getting followers, -.Getting people's favor. -.getting satisfaction from doing something worthy of respect;
9) They had a bad reputation. They confessed to God, but they lived the same life as ordinary people. This becomes evident when we look at three characteristics of Cretan society.
(1) False teachers were chronic liars. (2) False teachers were like evil beasts. (3) False teachers were lazy gluttons.
2,They had to be rebuked (verses 13-14), 1)the false teachers and their followers had to be rebuked in order to perfect their faith. 2) False teachers and their followers had to be rebuked in order to turn away from their tales and false religious norms.
3,They were completely unclean (verse 15), and the most important question in life is, how do humans become pure and righteous before God? is to do Man seeks to be recognized by God through works, by doing religious activities or doing good, and by becoming good.
It is for this reason that so many laws, norms, regulations, and religious ceremonies are being created. Such things are merely human desires to be accepted by God.
Therefore, false teachers and their followers, frankly all unbelievers, lack complete confidence in the forgiveness of sins and eternal life, the fact that God accepts them. Their hearts and consciences are dirty.
4, They acknowledged God, but denied Him in deeds (verse 16). False teachers openly confessed Christ, claimed to be the Christ, and attended church. Not only that, but they also preached, taught, and preached and taught from the pulpit.
But their actions showed that they were hypocrites. They did not teach the pure Word of God and the truth about Jesus Christ. -.They were detestable. -.They were disobedient. -.They were the outcasts.
They were completely useless in the sight of God. They had no choice but to be abandoned by God. Only those who truly believe in Jesus Christ can come to God and be saved.
Therefore, I pray in the name of the Lord that the saints who have believed first will witness the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard the news of the gospel, so that the kingdom of God will be expanded.
