Title: Father's Heart (Luke 15:11-24)
I hope that you can get to know God's heart through today's text. Like Jesus, we want to be those who please God. And may God bless us and may God bless our children's descendants as well. Through the heart of the Father in today's Word, we must be able to understand God's heart toward us.
Today, God is calling. ‘Come, let us argue with each other. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white wool, and as white snow.” The father could be angry and vomit. He could have been yelled at and signed to confirm that he would never do it again. But my father doesn't do that. You say ‘Just coming back, that’s enough’. That is the heart of God. When you return to Jehovah, that's it. That will solve everything. The mercy of the Lord is his love for us. Even today, God is waiting for souls who have turned away from God and are in the path of sin. And he forgives and forgives. This kind of heart of God is truly moving.
(3) Look at verse 22. ‘The father said to his servants, ‘Take out the best clothes, put them on, put the ring on your hand, and put on your shoes on your feet.’ Putting the ring on means restoring authority. To worship God means to become a free man as a master. And he killed the fattened calf, opened a feast, and said, 'This my son was dead and is alive again; I was lost and is found again.' There was no resentment in his father's appearance. It is the heart of the Father and the heart of God to give back what is his, restore everything, and rejoice through the feast. Jesus Christ said, “There is greater joy in heaven when one sinner repents and returns than there are ninety-nine who have no repentance.” God restores the returning sinner and is most pleased with it. Knowing this, God's children can now please God.
The eldest son who was at home, of course, became the father's delight as usual. But the father, who knew the second son was dying, could not be satisfied with the joy of the firstborn. The greatest joy a father could expect of his eldest son was neither a good meal nor hard work. It is the father's greatest joy to go to the second son and bring him back. Then the father will be able to rejoice greatly over the firstborn. And at a banquet, the eldest son can be commended by having his father sit next to him. But in fact, the eldest son did nothing for his younger brother. Rather, because of his anger, he was bullied and left alone. In a place where everyone rejoiced, he became a stranger. There was no joy or joy in him, he just became a miserable person.
In order for us to be able to rejoice together at the heavenly feast on the last day, we must be able to find the second son who has left home and bring them back. This is how you can please God. Those who are going the way of sin in the world must quickly turn to God. Because that way is the way of death. Only through Jesus Christ can they be saved and become children of God. God is the only One who can fill all that we have lost and restore eternal life. Those who have not yet returned should start right now. You have to come back right now. We need to persuade the unbelievers around us so that they can turn to the Lord. It is our earnest desire that we all become people who please God in our lives as strangers.
