“Father and Son” (Parents’ Sunday Sermon)
Genesis 22:6-12
Today, on Mother's Day, I will give a sermon entitled “Father and Son. On Mother's Day, we mainly preach about mothers, but today we will preach about fathers.
The Bible speaks not only of the mother, but also of the father. “Listen, my son, to the instruction of your father, and do not depart from the law of your mother” (Proverbs 1:8). A mother's love is unparalleled, but a father's love and grace are unparalleled and deep. Two people came out this morning and read a love letter to their father. They were truly beautiful and moving letters. They were letters filled with love, trust, and gratitude. The love, respect, trust, and gratitude of father and son make the life of father and son valuable and beautiful.
First, consider the father Abraham and the son Isaac.
Now we close the word. He preached about fathers and sons. He gave a sermon about a conversation between a father and a son. The nature of the father-son meeting and the nature of the father-son conversation may determine the fate of the two. Of course, there must also be a meeting between a father and a daughter and a meeting between a mother and a son. I hope there will be a meeting of faith and trust, a meeting of devotion and sacrifice, a meeting of respect and love. May there be dialogue of faith, trust, devotion, sacrifice, respect, and love. So, I pray that the lives of fathers and sons will become valuable and beautiful lives.
