Title: Father Knows
Matthew 6:31-34 The Father Knows Topic: 18. Faith 2008. 2. 3.
◎ Introduction
: People need to be saved from worry and anxiety.
※ The God who gave life knows all our needs. Therefore, believe in God and do not worry.
※ Things you should not worry about (25-30).
① About daily necessities (25) ② About life and body (25) ③ About food and housing (26)
④ About height (27) ⑤ About clothes (28~30)
25 Therefore I say to you: 1) For your life, do not worry about what you will eat or what you will drink. 2) Do not worry about your body, about what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Behold, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them, are you not more valuable than these? 27 Who among you can add one cubit to his stature by worrying? 28 And how can you (5) Are you concerned about clothing? Consider how the lily of the field grows, and it neither toils nor weaves. 29 But I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like this one flower. 30 Today and tomorrow If God cloths the grass of the field thrown into the furnace in this way, how much more must it be you, you of little faith (Matthew 6:25-30)
1. Don't worry. (31-32)
※ Don't even think about eating, drinking, or wearing anything. The reason is that?
One). Worry is what the Gentiles seek. (31)
※ Do not become like the lost and unsaved of this world.
① God knows our needs.
② Trust God and His care.
③ You must live and be active in the presence of God now and forever.
(Matthew 6:33, 16:26, Luke 21:34, Col 3:2, Titus 2:12)
※ The lost and the unsaved
① They do not know God personally.
② They do not know the hope of the eternal world. (Their hope is a kind of hope for the things of this world.)
* The solution is to convince them that God in heaven is their Father.
2). Because believers are different from Gentiles. ( Fundamental unbelief )
※ “At that time ① you were outside of Christ,
② He is from outside the country of Israel.
③I am a stranger to the covenants of promise
④ There is no hope in the world
⑤ He was without God” (Ephesians 2:12).
3). Believers have a Heavenly Father who knows our needs.
※ The difference with the Gentiles is that “① I have a Father in Heaven ② I live for Heaven”
* Therefore, we must leave the cares and worries of this world to God and seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
2. There is something to seek first. (33)
※ “Seeking” means to follow, to strive, to pursue, to aspire, to aim, to seek. work hard to get
※ People can have the things they need to live. However, there is something to be saved first.
(Luke 11:9-10, James 2:5, Deut 4:29, Isaiah 25:4, 41:17)
※ A major mistake of man is the illusion that only material things can make a person comfortable.
* They are material things outside of man.
* A person's inner need is not met by external comfort.
* A person must be satisfied inwardly and spiritually. (Ephesians 1:3)
※ God created man as a spiritual being.
Therefore, the way man can be satisfied is to seek first God and his righteousness.
※ How are people taking care of themselves?
① How to work and find on your own strength (Life of unbelievers - Excessive greed)
② How to work and find in God's power and in one's own power (the life of a true believer - in power)
※ How can I get rid of my concerns?
One). Seek the kingdom of God.
※ We must seek to become citizens of God and His kingdom.
* And we need to find others and ask them to become citizens of the kingdom of God.
2). We must seek the righteousness of God.
※ The righteousness of God is Jesus Christ. The righteousness of Jesus Christ saves ourselves and others.
