Title: Fear God Only (Luke 12:1-5)

Fear God only (Luke 12:1-5)

The Bible says that God is who He is (Exodus 3:14).

What are the attributes of God?

* Existence - There is only one (Deuteronomy 4:39; 6:4; 1 Timothy 2:5; Ephesians 4:4).

Isaiah 45:5 says, “I am the LORD, and there is no other, but me there is no God.”

* Omniscient - He knows everything (1 Chronicles 28:9).

* Almighty - can do all things (Exodus 6:3, Isaiah 9:6).

* Immutability - There is no change (Hebrews 13:8, James 1:17, Malachi 3:6).

* Eternal - forever (Psalm 102:12).

* Omnipresence - He is everywhere (Psalm 139:9-10).

* Impossible - He can accomplish any management (John 42:2).

Joshua 24:14 “Now shall we fear the Lord and serve him faithfully and in truth”

Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”,

Proverbs 14:27 “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life”,

Proverbs 28:14 “Blessed is the one who always fears God”,

Psalm 145:19 “He grants the desire of those who fear him”,

Ecclesiastes 12:13 “... Fear God and keep his commandments. This is the nature of man.”

The word “fear” means to honor and serve with all your heart, but it is to honor (love) and fear God exceedingly, and to do anything that pleases God.

Among the characters of the Bible, all those of true faith feared God.

Job said in Job 6:4, “The fear of God came upon me.”

King David said in Psalm 119:120 “For my flesh feared the Lord.”

Daniel 9:4 “The great and fearful Lord God”

The Apostle Paul is recorded in several places in the Bible, such as 2 Corinthians 5:11 “in our knowledge of the fear of the Lord” and 2 Corinthians 7:1 “in the fear of God”.

But those without faith did not fear God.

* Fear of men (2 Kings 25:26, Jeremiah 39:17).

* Fear of disease (Deuteronomy 28:60).

* Fear the signs of heaven (Jeremiah 10:2).

* It is said that they are afraid of slandering people (Psalm 119:39).

The Bible says Psalm 118:6, “The Lord is on my side; I have no fear; what can man do to me?” Proverbs 29:25 “The fear of man is a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord is safe.

Read verses 4-5 again from the text Jesus gave us today. “I tell you my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that are unable to do it any more. I will show you whom you ought to fear, fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell. Truly I say to you, fear him.”

The Bible says, Isaiah 8:13, “The Lord of hosts, you shall call him holy, and make him your fear and surprise.”

In other words, do not be afraid of people, and “fear only God”.

There is a saying among the old people who did not learn the Bible as clearly as we do. Even if it's a dark room, there is a warning from the old people that God's eyes see as bright as lightning even if the meaning of this word is a deceitful word in a dark room.

Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to his cry”, Psalm 94:9 “Does he not hear the maker of the ear or does the maker of the eye not see?” He does.

We must always remember that God's ears and eyes are more audible and brighter than X-rays, and we must lead a good life of faith. Amen.

Come on! So, who is the God we believe in?

The God we believe in is all-seeing (Hebrews 4:12-16).

2 Chronicles 16:9 “The eyes of the Lord go through all the earth, to show power for those whose heart is devoted to him.”

Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere to see the evil and the good.”

The God we believe in examines the heart, mind, and will.

The word ‘inspect’ here has the same root as the word ‘crino’, which means ‘judgment’ in the word ‘criticos’. And here, “heart” refers to the center of a person’s inner life, and “thought and will” both refer to the ideological aspect. Therefore, it means that God knows and judges even the parts of the will and thoughts that are not revealed outwardly.

1 Samuel 16:7 The Bible says, “I do not look like men; men look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The power of modern science is great. You could say it's superhuman. You can take a picture of the type of newspaper spread on the ground on an airplane, and you can project the secret things happening in the world village through the screen of Delevion. There is. However, no matter how advanced science is, it cannot detect people's mind, thoughts, and will.

But God knows every thought of man (Matthew 9:4, Luke 6:8, John 2:25). Hebrews 4:12 says, “… piercing even to the breaking of soul and spirit, joints and marrow;

Are any of us free from the shame and reproach of our conscience before God, who sees with his flaming eyes?

there is Then you have to fix it.

The God we believe in examines our actions (deeds).

The Bible Proverbs 16:2 “All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord searches the soul”, Psalm 139:2-6 “You know when I sit down and when I stand up/ You call my thoughts from afar/ He sees the way and the way I lie/ You are well acquainted with all my deeds/ O LORD, you do not understand the words of my tongue.” Luke 12:7 “Even the hairs of your head are all numbered…” 4:13 He says, "... but all things are revealed naked before the eyes of those who have dealings with us."

Here, 'appearing naked' refers to a state of surrendering before God, stuck in front of God, just like a wrestler choking his opponent to surrender. It's like peeling an onion.

We must know the following three impossible facts and obey God's will before God who sees all of us.

One). Concealment is impossible - Achan in the Bible could not hide his sin (Joshua 7:16-21), and Gehazi could not cover it up (2 Kings 5:20-27).

2). It is impossible to escape - Jonah in the Bible could not escape from God (Jon 2-3). There is no time to escape from God because God exists in heaven, in Hades, and at the ends of the sea (Ps. 139:1-13).

3). Resistance is impossible (Luke 22:42) - I am born again according to what I sow.

Num 32:23 He says, “Your sins will surely seek you and find you.”

Luke 12:2 says, “There is nothing that is hidden that will not be revealed, and that nothing that is hidden will not be made known.” In other words, it is said that the words spoken in the ear in a secret and secret room in the closet, that is, the words whispered only by the two of us as absolute secrets, are propagated on the roof. Because there can be no secrets, secrets, or hidden things before God.

In our country, there is a saying, “A bird hears the words of the day, and the rats hear the words of the night.” This means that, in the end, everyone will know what you say, even if you hide it at night or during the day.

Now you knew God right away. We must return to God quickly to live forever.

Bible Amos 5:4, 6 “Seek ye (God), and you shall live”, Proverbs 8:17 “I love those who love me, and those who seek me earnestly find me”, Jeremiah 29:13 “ If you seek and seek me with all your heart, you will find me.”

Let's find God! Let's meet God right away! This road alone is a blessing. Amen.
