Title: Fear Only God
Exodus (34) Fear only God (Exodus 14:1-9)
< Be bold >
After leaving Egypt, God also gave specific instructions on the course of the Israelites (verses 1-2). So they marched to the southeast of the sea and eventually encountered the Red Sea. At that time, Pharaoh wanted the Israelites to go out into the wilderness for only three days, as Moses requested, without exodus, and then to come back. But after three days, when he heard that the Israelites were continuing to march, Pharaoh set up his chariot and led the soldiers to pursue them (vv.
At last Pharaoh's army followed closely and reached the place where Israel encamped on the seashore (verse 9). It was about 6 days after the Exodus. According to Jewish tradition, the Jews crossed the Red Sea on the night of the 21st of Abib (Nisan, New Year). It was four days later that the people of Israel did not return after three days of their promised return and that they were continuing to go to Canaan, so Pharaoh pursued them with fierce ferocity and reached the camp of Israel for two days. It is a desperate crisis situation in which we cannot go forward and we cannot step back.
In life, we meet times like this, but the saints do not die even if they are slaughtered in all directions. A believer must leave God to die, and if he does not leave God, he will never die. There is no force in this world that can destroy the saints. The true enemy of the saints is only their pride and unbelief, who distance themselves from God. As long as the soul is in God, no one can harm it, so do not be afraid under any circumstances.
As Roosevelt said, "It's a problem to question a problem." When you make a problem a problem, the problem becomes a problem. However, even though you know it is a problem and crisis, do not be afraid and have faith and say, “I will definitely win! I can definitely get up! If you believe that God is with you!” and do your best, problems and crises will rather become opportunities for blessing and maturity.
< Fear only God >
Every morning when you wake up and start your day, two handles are placed for you to choose from. One is the handle of fear and the other is the handle of faith. Then, grabbing the handle of fear and leaving, the day feels gloomy, uninteresting, and tiring. On the other hand, if you hold on to the handle of faith at that time and go out, you will have courage, full of vitality, confidence, and victory.
Take the handle of faith and do not be afraid of any circumstances. There is only one God to fear. If you fear God and live, you are not afraid of any circumstances. The God who loves us will guide us in the best way to glorify us and give us freedom, peace, and blessings. God is a good God who gives all good things.
Now, unimaginable great things may happen in our future. However, what you need to believe without doubting is that God is with you. When we hold on to God by faith, we are held by God's love. Just as Nanjido is made into the best new city on a land of garbage, if we are held in God's hands, we will surely be used greatly. According to the Bible, there is no one who was used because of his power. Everything was written and used by God.
After all, the first confession of faith of the saints is this. "God! I am nothing. I have nothing to rely on.” Abraham was nothing, but God upheld him and made him his father by faith. Even Jesus' 12 disciples were nothing, but how much did they all use? Just as a sculptor makes a wonderful sculpture out of nothing, and an artist draws a wonderful work out of nothing, God will use people like us who are nothing.
In the book of Isaiah, referring to Israel, he said, “Jacob, you worm!” Jacob, who was like an earthworm, was greatly used in God's hand. So when you pray to God, pray like this. "God! I am just one piece of paper. I am lacking. Help me to live by God today!” As you live each day with such a confession, do not fear anything in the world, only fear God and go out. At that time, we will overcome all trials and triumph in God who gives us strength.
