Title: Fear the Word of the Lord
Exodus 10 1-11
Fear the word of the Lord
It's a sympathetic word. Before becoming president, people are usually humble. All candidates are humble, perhaps because they are vote-conscious. However, in many cases, becoming the president becomes stubborn and arrogant. He seldom listens to others. The presidency is so great,
It is a powerful position.
However, if the elder president fears God all his life and lives according to the word of God, then becomes president, believes in his own strength and becomes intoxicated with his authority, the future becomes very worrying. I really hope that he will fear God for the rest of his life and fear the word of God written in the Bible.
2. If you look at the Bible, there are people who thought the word of God was a ‘joke’ when it was preached. They were the sons-in-law of Lot who lived in Sodom. God will judge them with fire, so they told them to get out of the city quickly, and the sons-in-law thought it was a joke, but they died in the fire of judgment coming down from heaven that day.
In a house several generations of readers were born. Because he is a very precious reader, he raised all of his family members. As a result, this child lost his habit and did exactly the opposite of what the adults said. Instead of obeying the adults, I always did the opposite, and the adults complimented me on how cute and clever it was.
Then one day, seeing a child playing in front of the house, Grandpa thought it was dangerous because cars were going by, so he called out, ‘Son, come here’. Then, as usual, this child looked at his grandfather and grinned, then ran off to the other side of the road, to the side of the road. He was hit by a car while running and died on the spot.
Practice obedience to the Lord's Word on a regular basis. Take it as a joke and don't make fun of consciously breaking it.
Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, disregarded the Word of God in the first place, not just a joke, and as time went on, the Word of God became a burden, he consciously denied it because of his self-esteem, and later tried to compromise properly, but when it did not go his way, he became angry and rejected it. I did. And he was destroyed because of those words.
Ten plagues continue to fall upon Pharaoh. At first, he didn't even blink an eye, but as the calamity intensified, Pharaoh's heart was shaken. However, I was proud of myself and did not respond.
Today's text is the 8th plague, the plague of locusts. We don't really understand the word locust plague. What plague are locusts? Can't eat without it? But in Africa, the locust plague was truly one of the worst. Since the locusts form swarms and devour all crops for human consumption, if a swarm of locusts passed once, the area would starve to death in large numbers. Because the locusts ate all the human food.
This locust plague is sentenced for the eighth time. Nevertheless, Pharaoh pretended not to hear and turned away from Moses and Aaron. Then, people who thought it was a big deal this time stood up. Verse 7, "Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long will this man become our trap? Send those men to serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?” The gods picked it up and got up. The people wanted to destroy the country, so they got up and begged for Moses and Aaron to come back.
However, after negotiating again, Pharaoh gets angry with his grass and throws Moses and Aaron out this time.
You can't throw it away, you can't accept it, you can't be ignorant, your pride is hurting, ... In the end, Pharaoh blocks his ears to the word of God. That's too bad. You seem to be looking down on yourself too much. I'm so proud of myself. So, although I have tasted the power of God, I now know the power to some extent, but I still feel bad. So they cast out those who preached the word of God altogether.
3. The word of God has been proclaimed, but it does not mean pretending not to hear it. God's will has already been communicated, but insisting on not wanting to do so is, in some cases, only pushing the falcon. How can you fight God? In God's will, it is best to bow quickly to the Lord's given word. Then live.
Nothing else to be afraid of. But fear the word of God. The Word created the world and judges the world. Fear God's word no matter what.
Do you know where true faith comes from? It starts with fear. If you are not afraid of God, where will you serve God? Therefore, faith begins with the fear of God. The word awe means to be afraid.
We believe in a God of love. But, everyone, don't look down on the God of love too much. Don't just look at him as someone who always talks about love and ends up as someone who is soft. Sometimes the Word of God causes great tidal waves, storms, shattering mountains, dividing the earth ... Fear the word of the Lord.
But if you truly fear the word of God, you will have nothing to fear in this world. This is the tombstone of the British Puritan leader Cromwell. “The man who feared God, and who was not afraid of the world, sleeps here.”
May this tombstone become your tombstone, and I hope that you will win today as the strongest man of God in fear and obedience to the word of the Lord!
<Speak to me, Lord. Always tell your servant. So, give me an abundance of ears to hear your words and my spiritual senses. Whether those words are a joy or a burden to my heart, let me obey them. No matter what happens, let the word of the Lord fear no one in this world. I hope these words will abound in my ears and in my heart today as well. Let me enter the Promised Land by thoroughly obeying the word of the Lord, which comes to me with emotion, moment by moment, at every fork in the road.>
