Title: Fight hard
(Jude 1:3-4)
Verse 3 speaks of our salvation in two senses. One was expressed with the words 'general salvation' and the next with the words 'the way of faith given once and for all'.
1. Salvation obtained in general
Our salvation is a common salvation. The doctrine of salvation is simple and common. It never has to be complicated or special conditions. Judas is emphasizing here that salvation has a general and universal character, as many heretics and false teachers have caused many people to stumble from the faith by obscuring the true way of salvation. The phrase 'salvation obtained in our common' means that all are equal in obtaining salvation.
Person A must believe philosophically to be saved, and person E does not have to believe theologically to be saved. It is the fact that there is only one universal and very general salvation for all mankind. It is not that university professors have different beliefs about salvation and ignorant workers have different beliefs about salvation. Whether it's Queen Elizabeth of England, President Clinton of the United States, or Lazarus, living on the crumbs of a rich family, it means the same general salvation.
The method of salvation is the same. Anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved. We only have different statuses when we live as strangers in this world, and salvation cannot be discriminated or different based on our status in the same world. In this world, since all people are generally saved, when we go to heaven, our reward will be determined according to the life of faith obtained through salvation, and our new status and new status will be determined. As such, it is a characteristic of the gospel and salvation that anyone can obtain it simply and generally.
Anyone who has been born again by the Holy Spirit will not fall from the path of salvation just because he or she does not fully understand the knowledge of the Bible. It's a different gospel to throw strange vomit here. The view of salvation, such as obeying the law to be saved, and following the Mormons or joining the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses to be saved, is not a general view of salvation. Paul said in Galatians 1:7, "There is no other gospel, except that some are disturbing you and trying to change the gospel of Christ."
We did not receive salvation by believing in the gospel that changes according to race, age, or environment. In any age, in any race, in any historical background, we are all saved under the same conditions, the same faith, and the same method. If this is not the general view of salvation, it would be a different gospel.
2. The principle of faith given once and for all
Judas calls this salvation 'the way of faith given to the saints once and for all'. Faith was given to the saints once and for all. The word given once for all means that salvation was completed through faith in Jesus Christ. The way of salvation revealed in the Bible is confirmed by God, and there is no other revelation attached to it. If you believe in this way of salvation, you will be saved through it. Next, this means that our salvation is a one-time event that is enough.
Since we have received wrong salvation, there is no such thing as a correctional theory of salvation that we must correct this way. Misunderstanding the Bible can be corrected by learning, but there is no correcting of wrong salvation. Because there can be no wrong salvation in the world. Salvation does not mean that you fill a certain amount at the beginning and gradually fill it up as you learn it and reach the stage of salvation completely. In any case, salvation is achieved once and for all.
Therefore, the Bible assures us of our salvation by saying that you have been saved by faith. There are some Christians who believe that they have been saved, yet they doubt it and follow a different Jesus or a different gospel. Paul rebuked this in Galatians 3:1 and below, saying, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing and by faith? Are you so foolish that you began with the Spirit and finished with the flesh?" Judas urged them to fight hard for this way of faith.
As to the reason for this, verse 4 says, 'Because there were some who came in alone.' These are the people who quietly enter the church and turn God's grace into lust. These are ungodly people who are already determined to be judged by God. We have to fight these kinds of people who sneak into the church and keep the faith that was given to us in general and given to us at once.
Conclusion: There are many people around us who corrupt the gospel. These hordes, or by plausible theories or by gullible methods, cast doubt on our general salvation and cast new baits. These are the evil hordes that plunder our lives. We must not neglect our spiritual warfare with them. We should do our best not to be robbed of the reward of glory because of them.
