Title: Fill My House (Luke 14:15-24)
The Bible speaks of the relationship between God and our saints. So, let me ask you one question. What do you think is the purpose of a shepherd raising sheep? The purpose of raising sheep is for its nutritious milk, its warm coat, and its breeding lamb. The most important thing here is the lamb. The greatest purpose of raising sheep is to increase the number of lambs by giving birth to them. Therefore, the more lambs are produced, the more the love of the owner is monopolized. However, the sheep are filthy. It does not give birth to lambs well. Because there is no lamb, there is no milk, and the hair is coarse and unappealing. What would you use this amount for? The secret to being loved by God is to have a good lamb. That is, we lead many people to God by evangelizing diligently. That is why the Lord still commands us strongly. Now, I hope that the words we read can be heard as the words the Lord has given us in that sense. We should take some spiritual lessons from these words. What spiritual lessons do we need to learn from this?
1. The lesson is that Christianity is a religion like a house of feasting.
The feast house is where everything abounds. Food is plentiful, people are plentiful, laughter and singing and joy abound. Above all, he is full of humanity. That's why many people celebrate by eating a lot of food. This was what a traditional feast looked like. The banquet introduced in the Bible today is not such a banquet, but a banquet of abundance and abundance. Verse 17 says, “At the time of the banquet he sent his servants to those who had invited him, saying, Come, everything is ready.” In the same way, our Christianity is that all things are prosperous.
You need to know that it is a religion like a feast house equipped with crabs. So Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28) I hope you will.
2. It is the fact that we are servants of the feast house.
It is the servant who does the most work and plays an important role at the feast. In that sense, a servant is not the master, but he is a person who bears the responsibilities of the feast together with the master. Therefore, if the feast is successful, the person to be praised is the servant, and if the feast fails, the person to be rebuked is also the servant. That is why the role of the servant in the feast is so important. In that sense, we must know that our members are servants who prepare and conduct the heavenly feast. Above all, it is the servants' job to invite and welcome guests. But the reality of our church today is not like that. Please forgive me if it is my wrong conclusion and please listen. Our church is like a banquet house without bells. If everyone is not the owner, everyone is the guest. There are even onlookers.
3. He urged them to bring them.
Verse 23, “The master said to his servant, “Go out into the roads and through the hills, and compel them to take me and fill my house.” Here, the word does not mean gentlemanly persuading him to bring him. The Greek word means to. It means that we will do everything we can to meet God's needs, regardless of our own will. The thing that our God is most pleased with is compelling people to take them and fill the house of God. Fortunately, our church has many vacancies for you to fill. Please take a look around you. You can bring whatever you want. This means that you have a lot of work to do, and there are many rewards for those who work.
