Title: Find the Shadow
Contents
Bible Text: Isaiah 25:4-5
find the shade
A woman who studies well is not a pretty woman, and a pretty woman is not a woman who has married well. A woman who gets married and lives happily with children is probably a blessed person.
In the Song of Songs, a Shulammite woman speaks happy words of love for Solomon. “My beloved among men is like an apple tree in the midst of a bush; I sat in its shade and rejoiced over it, and its fruit was sweet in my mouth” (Song 2:3). It indicates satisfaction.
Shulammite is a foreign woman and there is nothing special, but she rejoices in the shadow of Solomon. “The Lord is your keeper, and the Lord is your shade at your right hand” (Psalm 121:5) May you gain strength from the shadow of God and live a blessed life.
Shade to avoid the heat
The Bible we read today describes God as “a shadow from the heat.” The land of Israel is bordered by the Arabian Desert and the wilderness of the Sinai Peninsula. The desert is a difficult environment for living things to inhabit. A wilderness is a dry, barren, wild field. There is no crop to plant, no trees or plants to grow, and no water to drink. A desert or wilderness is a place of suffering and suffering. It is a lonely, troubled, and empty field with no one to rely on. There is no wall to shelter from when the storm blows, and no shade to hide from the heat. The wilderness has no trees and no water to drink. Only the roar of the beast is heard, and a murderous raging storm descends.
The Israelites lived in this environment as a sojourner for 40 years. John the Baptist lived in the wilderness and was given the title of the greatest of all born of women. Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The wilderness is not only a place of trials and tribulations, but it is also a place where you can have fellowship with God and receive the power of God.
Elijah, in despair, went into the wilderness and sat under a broom tree, begging for death. An angel sent by God caresses Elijah as he sleeps. He put the charcoal-grilled rice cakes and water by the bedside, woke him up and said, “Get up and eat.” The shade of the Rodem tree was a place of grace that revived Elijah and a spiritual charging station.
The God of Israel was a shadow in the desert and in the wilderness. He was with them as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night as they left Egypt and passed through the wilderness. He covered the heat from the desert and wilderness with a thick pillar of cloud.
When Moses was nearing his deathbed, the Lord told Moses to call Joshua and come out to the tent of meeting with him, as the time of your death was near. As he went out, he succeeded him in his position among the pillar of cloud. When Moses laid his hands on Joshua, he was filled with the Spirit of Wisdom, and the children of Israel obeyed Joshua's words (Deuteronomy 34:9).
The existence of clouds presupposes that there is an entity that causes clouds to exist. There can be no shadow without substance. They were able to enter the land of Canaan by covering them with the cloud of grace in the wilderness where the heat was shining down on them. There is man on the earth, there is a cloud above man, and God is above the cloud.
When Jonah was building a shelter to avoid the heat, and while he was sitting in the shade looking at the city of Nineveh, God prepared a gourd vine to give a shade over Jonah's head, so that he could avoid suffering. You did. It's almost fainting when it's basking in a thunderstorm. Jonah says, “It is better to die than to live.” As to why you are angry, they say that it is worthy to die while you are angry (Jon 4:9). God was protecting Jonah. God was his shadow. A gourd vine that avoids the heat is a shade for rest and recovery from fatigue. “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Please find rest under the shadow of Jesus who is likened to an apple tree.
The shade of your wings
Shade blocks the sun, but figuratively represents protection and defense. “You keep me as the pupil of the eye, and hide me under the shadow of your wings” (Psalm 17:8).
The mother chicken protects the chicks with its wings and incubates the eggs to hatch the chicks. Wings are the organs that generate power. The wings of the Lord are the wings of God's power. Lift your body with the power of your wings. The shade of the wings of the Lord represents dreams and power to fly in the sky.
Among the old nursery rhymes, there is a song called “Fly, fly, fly, fly, fly high, high, our plane”. It contains the dream of flying in the sky. From floating to flying, from flying to flying higher. It goes from very low to very high. Fly! Fly! shouting, 'Fly, fly' gives strength to the state that only floats and cannot fly. They are shouting not to just fly, but to fly higher and higher.
On the first full moon day of New Year's Day, we used to fly a kite. There are large kites, small kites, tailed kites, tailless kites, white kites, and red kites. There are kites with holes, and kites without holes.
A kite with a hole in it is an empty kite, and a kite without a hole is a hollow kite. We're the only ones in the world with a hole in the kite. Airplanes are better than empty kites. Fly, fly, our airplane, not just one person's dream, but the dream of our people.
Our people have lived in poverty for many years. They lived on the earth like beasts that crawl on the earth. Wearing sandals and rubber shoes, I was unable to leave the land. Our people, freed from pressure and sorrow, are screaming to rise from the ground and rise higher. ‘It’s out! Applause seems to be heard when they shout, 'Fly!' Fly!’ is a shout of cheer.
Korea's gross national income fell from 11th place in the world in 2004 to 12th place in 2005, overtaking Brazil, and then fell one more place to 13th place in 2006, overtaking Russia. We need to revive a sluggish economy. You must pray. The fragrance of the prayers of the saints must be lifted. We must make our faith rise, the economy rises, and the country rise.
An airplane taking off has wheels. Wheels drag the heavy fuselage until it floats. At the moment of takeoff, it uses maximum force and runs at maximum speed, then floats at some point. Airplanes have wheels and wings. It flies with its wheels until it floats, and with its wings when it floats.
“Even a boy will be weary and weary, and a young man will stumble and fall; but those who wait on the Lord will find new strength, and they will rise up like eagles on wings; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not get weary” (Isaiah 40: 30-31)
Take a seat under your main wing and use that power to float and fly. Jesus embraces us as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. The main wing is the wing of power, the wing that flies in the sky. May you find refreshment under the shadow of your wings and fly like an eagle.
Shadow of the Almighty
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will dwell under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). The secret place of the Most High is covered by the shadow of the Almighty. It is the place of God's presence and the breath of the Almighty. Just as there is warmth and peace under the wings, there is peace and confidence under the shadow of the Almighty.
The exterior of the sanctuary is easily visible to everyone, but the interior of the sanctuary can only be seen from inside. In Old Testament times only the high priest could enter, but the veil of the sanctuary was torn by the death of Christ.
Anyone can boldly enter without hesitation. Rich or poor, educated or ignorant, noble or commoner, old or young, it doesn't matter. God does not take appearances. God is rich to all who seek Him.
According to the book of Acts, when Peter passed by, it was crowded with people who brought patients out, but he approached him hoping that his shadow would be covered (Acts 5:15).
It was because I wanted to be healed by the power of God when the power of God was revealed through Peter. From the time of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven is taken by violent men. “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7) “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)
In the old days, mothers could not live without the shade of their husbands. There was very little that women could do. It was really hard to raise children without a husband. “I will dwell under the shadow of the Almighty” The word “abide” means “settling”. I live in a secret place as my dwelling place. The power of God is covered in the shadow of your wings. You don't know how blessed it is to live under the shadow of the Almighty. May you be protected, supported, encouraged, and lived under the shadow of God.
Please boldly enter the secret place of the Almighty before the throne of grace. The safety condition must be that the adversary cannot break through. Hide your soul in God's protection. Then God will protect you. God guarantees it. The hymn that comes from there is this. “The devil comes running with his mouth open to devour us, but the Lord Jesus is our captain, and we will fight and win in the end. Peace be in my soul, my soul, my soul, my soul.” “Goodness and mercy will surely follow me all the days of my life. will abide forever” (Psalm 23:6).
As long as I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, the shadow of the Almighty will cover me. May you live a life of power under the shadow of the Almighty.
There is something called a nuclear umbrella. It aims to ensure the security of countries that do not have nuclear weapons by nuclear weapons states. Japan and South Korea, which do not have nuclear weapons, are protected under the nuclear umbrella of the United States. Rogue countries such as North Korea and Iran are threatening neighboring countries, but they are suppressing the threat with the nuclear umbrella policy of the US, a nuclear power. Peace on the Korean Peninsula is guaranteed by the Korea-US Mutual Defense Treaty. If we take down the nuclear umbrella, our national defense is at risk.
Prolonged exposure to extreme heat is dangerous. Find a shade away from the heat and eat. Stay under the clouds of grace. May you find it under the shadow of your wings and become an eagle that soars and soars by the power of your power. May you win thanks to the power of the Almighty.
God is the shadow that covers the storm, and God gives us the wings of eagles that fly in the sky. If I live in the power of the Almighty, I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.
