Title: Finding Andrew / John 6:5-15
John 6:5-15 Finding Andrew
I. The rationalist Philip's problem
In order to live in the world, people like Philip who can judge quickly and think rationally are essential. It is presumed that Philip probably benefited Jesus and his disciples considerably with his own strengths. However, even at the crucial moment when Jesus needs to perform his power, he leaves behind faith and judges only with reason. It is not that his analysis of the situation was wrong, but that Philip did not include the fact that Jesus was present in the situation was the limitation and problem of Philip.
What is the meaning of faith if we only live Philip's way? What is the use of God's power and privileges given to the saints? Jesus Christ must be added to Philip's way. Faith must be added, and God's power must be added. Mankind, who has sinned, has no body to be saved. But when the blood of Jesus Christ was added to that, we, sinners, became children of God. For those who believe in God's love, power, and authority, He not only allows them to see the glory of God, but also promises that nothing will be impossible. The joy of the forgiveness of sins, the privileges of children, and the inheritance of the kingdom of God are given, and a more abundant life is prepared. But why exclude Jesus Christ? Why exclude God's love and power?
I need to understand and analyze my situation and circumstances well. But that's not all. Faith is believing that nothing is impossible when the power of Jesus Christ and the love of God are together. This is the authority of the children of God. Please believe that this authority has been given to me and yours. Have you been familiar with the miracle of Oh Byung-Eye since Sunday School and accepted it only as a written word? If Jesus is with us in our lives, believe that the miracles of Obyeong-ear can become a reality today.
II. The way of the earth, the way of the sky
In Numbers 11, the Israelites are having a hard time living in the wilderness and are blaming Moses and God. Although God had given him precious manna in the desert where there was nothing, how did Moses feel when he was not satisfied with it, longed for the Egyptian meat kiln, and blamed God? Moses is also upset and rages against God. “God, did I conceive them? did you give birth to them? How far should I go with them?” God was patient with Moses, and from the next day onward, for a month, quails were piled up around the camp by two cubits. No matter how much meat they ate, the Israelites suffered group food poisoning and indigestion and died in droves. We bury them all at once, engraved the inscription “the grave of greed,” and set off on a journey in the wilderness.
Here, the Israelites complained about God and challenged His power, but Moses also made a mistake in his words, not like a man of faith. Except for the God who performed many miracles through him, he lashed out at God with a rational and rational judgment. Is it only Moses? How often do we too today underestimate the power and authority of God? Even now, God's creative hand, the hand of power, and the hand of blessing are with us and caress us with the hand of love. The hand of power that lifted Peter up from the storm is still holding onto us who are weak in faith. Nevertheless, like Philip, we only look at the huge crowd and only the beans and conclude that it is impossible.
Now is the time for a change of consciousness of faith. Everyone says it is more difficult and difficult than during the IMF, but now is the time to recognize and judge the situation with faith and add the power and work of God. What privileges do we have? If all things are done according to the way of the earth, there is no privilege of the believer. The Lord commands us in the Word of this hour. “Do not live only according to the ways of the earth. Are you not the people of heaven? We must live God’s way, Heaven’s way.”
Ⅲ. who God is looking for
Perhaps we are like five loaves of barley loaves given to the Lord by little children. It's a life like two fish. However, we too become a channel to reveal God's power when we are held in the Lord's hands. The problem is not the situation. God is not looking for Philip who is locked in a situation, but Andrew, who overcomes the situation and trusts and obeys God. Even if it is my little strength, my little time, my little material, and my little devotion, give it to the Lord with the heart of Andrew. When entrusted to the Lord's hands, the Lord reveals His greatness and power even now in our lives, in our homes and in our churches. He is able to create a history that is more than enough for a large crowd to eat.
