Title: Flame of Life (February 29)
Content span id="writeContents">◆ Main text: Exodus 3:2
Lent is the beginning of the suffering of the Lord. Lent is a season in which we forbid entertainment, meditate, pray, and experience the sufferings of the Lord.
I suddenly had cataract surgery and lived with one eye. I covered one eye and walked around and the kids looked at me. “One-Eyed Pastor, One-Eyed Pastor.” Then, as a kid said, “Pastor, when you look at it with one eye, you see only half of the world, right?”
Sometimes kids really tell the truth.
Seeing with one eye doesn't mean you can only see half, but you can see everything...
I thought about why God made us humans with two eyes.
Last week, our men and women missionaries went on a mission trip to China. There were 18 people, but with one week difference, the members of Taebaek and our members went on a mission trip to the same place and at the same time. This time, I had a special opportunity to go on a missionary trip.
In addition, he had to fight cancer at the end of his life.
Amid the suffering of cancer, he was able to organize his fortune at the end of his life. When I cleaned up my assets, all that was left was 80 million won. I put the 80 million won and prayed earnestly before God.
“God, all I have left on this earth is this 80 million won. What can you do with this and leave it on this earth for God?”
He has never been to China, nor has he ever heard of China in depth, but he usually preaches the gospel to so many people in mainland China, telling them to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. I remember preaching to them. He gave up 80 million won of all his fortune to the Chinese mission and received the last call of God. That 80,000 won went straight into my bank account. Of the 80 million won, we spent 30 million won to build a chapel in a Chinese church attended by Han Chinese in Qingdao, and in the process of starting now, our mission trip team came to visit there.
“What did we who are alive do, and what will we do?”
They made a decision there and said, “Shouldn't we do something too? Shouldn’t we who are still alive be able to handle this?” Having said that, I made a decision and came back.
The Bible testifies to us that life changes in life change our lives through this small spark of life, and through that spark, we come to meet God, and through that encounter we are destined to live a new life. are doing
The words in today's text also testify to that.
Moses did not meet God in the splendid life of the palace. When he was surrounded by many people, when he was young, when he had money, he did not meet God. Now he's older, everyone leaves him, and there's nothing he can do about it. He had nothing.
He had everything, but when God wasn't there, he couldn't do anything. However, when there was nothing and nothing could be done.... The moment God came to him, the Bible records that he was given great power to do anything.
That is the great power of faith.
No money, no health, no power, no knowledge, no things we have, if only God exists, we can work again. We are saying that as long as that small spark of life is alive in our heart, history will appear.
In his lifetime, he may have been a failure in the ministry. Only a few people have heard his sermons in their lifetime. But now his story has begun to spread through Christian newspapers. Everyone who heard his story touched his heart.
That was my first impression when that 80 million won was deposited into my bank account.
“Even such a nameless pastor can do this, God has given me so much, what have I done?”
That grandmother pastor came back to life with the flame of mission in my heart. This is the great power of Christianity. When we look at the great victors, we do not miss the opportunity God has given us at any moment. Opportunities don't come often.
When the opportunity of grace comes, the person who makes it mine is the person of grace. A person who succeeds is a person who does not miss the opportunity when it comes and grabs it. When the opportunity of faith comes, we can become great people of faith when we do not miss the opportunity and seize it as our own.
Second, the person of faith continuously ignites this flame in his or her life. It is said that the spark of faith is not disposable. Once you receive the flame, it doesn't go out and you have to learn to keep it.
A deacon from the church my brother serves went there and was very moved. I was so moved that I went to the place where Jesus carried the cross, Jesus fell, and bled. I was so moved that I fell on my face and there I just cried and cried. I didn't even know that the male butler was embarrassed.... According to one butler's expression, he wept like chicken poop and wept on the spot. While weeping, “Our Lord, our Lord” Oh, and after a while, he went downstairs and smoked a cigarette.
Faith is faith and life is life. Today's church members live in such a convenient way. Separate faith, separate life.... Everyone laugh, but we all do. Faith and life must become one.
In the church, you seem to be quite a believer... When we receive grace, we cry, our hearts are plausible, but when we go outside the church, we are the same as people in the world. Isn't that right? That's not it. I didn't have to believe in Jesus as it was convenient for me. Jesus must be my everything and Jesus must be my life.
If God wanted it, we should have the same faith of Abraham, who gave his children too, but isn't it like that these days? If there is a small problem, they turn away from God and turn away from the church...
This week, we called our Gagwangmyeong evangelist and said, “You should quit the ministry.” I did.
We must believe in Jesus as we pray. No matter how many years change, Jesus is Jesus and God is God.
Theology these days is not like that, is it? These days, theology is Jesus double eyelid surgery, Jesus perm, and Jesus these days, I sit in front of a computer. It's a problem. I did that after seeing Preacher Ga Gwang-myeong.
“You will be ordained a pastor in a month, but don’t be ordained as a pastor in this way. You have to become a truly vibrant pastor. There must be a life like that that burned in Moses’ heart.”
“Without Jesus, I cannot live.”
“Without God, I cannot live.”
We must have this confession. I mean, it wouldn't have happened without this.
The spark of faith must be the spark of love.
“If you know me, I know you; if you honor me, I honor you.”
Say hello to the person next to us. “I honor you.” "Amen"
I respect my dear saints.
Therefore, I thought that Moses had forgotten everything, but thought that there was nothing he could do about his life, just as the greatest thing happened in Moses' life when the spark of life came on, just as the greatest thing happened not only in Moses but also in the history of Israel. Even though we are like us who can do nothing, when the spark of life comes into us, God does great things through us. That God does great things through us. You are God's honorable use of you. we will pray
“Thank you, Father God, for being with us. The spark of life that was given to Moses' heart, He also gave this flame in our hearts at this time. He made this flame burn, and let the light shine toward the darkening world, God's great work accomplished through Moses, through them. Please help me to make it happen. I earnestly pray in the name of Jesus. Amen."
