I. Introduction
1. The Lord gave Jeremiah a message to go down to the palace of Judah and proclaim (1)
① Now, O king, listen to what the LORD is saying to you (1)
② Hear these words from the officials under you and the people who come to you (1)
2. As a result of the people of Israel disobeying God's command, they eventually suffered destruction. Ⅱ.Main - I speak as the master of the whole world.
1. The results of Jehovah's commands and whether they are carried out
(1) Command: You work hard to implement social justice (3)
① Liberate those who are oppressed and exploited from the grip of those who oppress them violently (3)
② Do not exploit the poor in the country of Judah who wander around and work for the rich (3)
③Do not abuse or use violence against orphans or widows who are helpless (3) ④End the killing by catching, imprisoning and killing innocent people in this country, namely, each (3)
(2) Practice and refusal of orders
① If these conditions are strictly observed and practiced,
a. There is a future for this royal family (4)
B. From now on, you will have many servants and people, riding in chariots and horses, going in and out of this palace gate (4)
②If you do not receive this teaching sweetly,
a. This palace will be turned into a garbage heap (5)
B. I swear by myself as the master of the whole world and swear this with certainty (5)
2. Israel Refusing God's Command
(1) God declares the destruction of Israel
①Until now, God has blessed Israel
a. Like the forest of Gilead (6)
B. Loved it like the beautiful scenery on top of Lebanon (6)
②But now
a. I will overturn you and turn you into a desert (6)
B. I will turn it into a pile of garbage that no one can buy anymore (6)
③I will send you those who will destroy you (7)
(2) The world's evaluation of the destruction of Israel
① Ask each other: Why did the Lord destroy the great city so horribly? (8)
② to answer each other
a. Because the inhabitants of this city did not observe the obligations and conditions of the covenant they made with their God (9)
b. and worshiped and bowed down to other gods (9)
Ⅲ. Concluding remarks
1. If we follow God's commands, God promises the future, but
2. If you break that command, you will be destroyed.
1 This is what the LORD said: “Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and tell him this.
2O king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, listen to the word of the LORD. All the servants and the people who go in and out of the gates of this city, listen together.
3 Didn't this Jehovah say? Practice law and justice, rescue those who are unfairly exploited, do not harass or abuse the poor, orphans, and widows, and do not shed blood by killing innocent people in this place.
4If you follow this with all your heart, the kings who ascend to the throne of David will be able to enter and exit this palace gate with their servants and people in chariots and horses.
5 But if you do not do as I have said, did I not say that I will make this palace a pile of stones? But you didn't.
6 So I, the LORD, have decided to do this for the royal family of Judah. You were to me like Gilead, like the peaks of Lebanon, but now I will make you a desert and a city where no human shadow shines.
7I will send men on a mission to destroy you, and each of them will take an ax and cut down your fine pine pillars and set them on the fire.
8 Nations will pass through this city, and they will talk to each other. Why did the Lord make this great city like this? and ask,
9 Because these people have forsaken the covenant they made with the LORD their God, and worshiped and served other gods.'
