Title: Follow God's Timing
follow God's timing
“Timing is everything” The most important thing in life is to get the timing right. Moses grew up in God's providence, but after the age of 40, Moses became a fugitive, fleeing to the Wilderness of Midian at the wrong time. However, God had prepared the wilderness of Midian as an opportunity for greater training for Moses.
Once when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and saw their toil, and saw an Egyptian beating a certain Hebrew, his brother. He looked from side to side, and when he saw that there was no one, he struck the Egyptian and hid it in the sand. The next day he went out again, and the two Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to the wrongful man, “Why do you attack your fellow countrymen?” And he said, “Who made you our rulers and judges? Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid and said, "The matter has been revealed." When Pharaoh heard this, he sought to kill Moses. Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian, and one day he sat by a well. Exodus 2:11-15
There is a saying in English “Timing is everything”. It means that the most important thing in life is getting the timing right. To adjust the time and to adjust the time to get the timing is to know the time. Knowing when to go and when to stop is to stop, to laugh when to laugh, to cry when to cry, to eat when to eat, to sleep when to sleep.
Timing is also important in cooking. Ramen noodles should be added when the water is boiling, soup should be added after a while, and eggs should be added right before eating. Even if the meat is grilled, it should be grilled at the right time; it should not be taken out too quickly, or if left too long, it will burn and not be eaten. Timing is also important when a person is ill and takes medicine. If you eat at the right time to take your medicine, you will get better quickly. When speaking, you must also speak at the right time. Go to the funeral and say, “You must be very happy.” “You will be happy.” Wouldn't it be embarrassing if I said that?
There is a saying in Proverbs, “A word appropriate for its time is apples of gold in engraved plates of silver” (Proverbs 25:11). How beautiful would it be to have a silver tray engraved with numbers and floated with golden apples? It means that it is the right word for the occasion. The same goes for people making money. Is Now the Time to Invest? You need to know when it's time to pay off your investment. If you go one beat ahead or one beat late, you will lose money when everyone else is making money.
The Timely Life of Jesus
The entire life of Jesus is full of precise timing. The birth of Jesus did not come by chance, but in the fulness of time. “In the fulness of time, God sent his Son, of a woman, under the law” (Galatians 4:4). Even when Jesus performed miracles, he did not do it at any time, but when the time came. When the wine ran out at the wedding in Cana of Galilee, Mary said, “Wine has run out in this house.” Even when he said, “My hour has not yet come.” You can see through the Bible that he waited until the time came. Even when he performed the great miracle of turning water into wine, he did it in due time.
The brothers of Jesus did not believe in Jesus and thought he was some kind of superstar or ‘Yon-sama’. So when Jesus' brothers saw him, they said, "If you are so powerful, reveal yourself to the world! Be popular!” It is said. Even Jesus' brothers did not believe in him. Jesus told his brothers that he did not reveal himself to the world because the time had not come. “Jesus said to them, My hour has not yet come, but your time is always ready” (John 7:6).
The reason the Jews tried to arrest Jesus but did not catch him was because the time had not come. “They wanted to seize Jesus, but no one touched him, because his hour had not yet come” (John 7:30). In all of Jesus' life, there was nothing wrong with the time.
Exodus 2 subtly differentiates between the well-timed cases and the worst cases. How well was the timing of verses 1 to 10? Jochebed bore a son. When he gave birth, he saw how virtuous and beautiful he was. Even though the Jews knew Pharaoh's command to throw a son into the sewer when he gave birth, he held the son in his arms and nursed him for three months. However, after 3 months of how healthy my son was, he was crying loudly and he couldn't hide it. So I made a reed carousel and painted it with bitumen so that the water would not leak. Then, I prayed, “God, give this son grace so that he may not die and live.” But who came out just then? Then Pharaoh's princess came out to the Nile to bathe in broad daylight.
At that very moment, when he saw a reed caravan drifting away, he said, “This is a Hebrew child.” Then, feeling pitiful, he grabbed the reed box and rescued the baby from it. So, the meaning of the name Moses is ‘drought out of the water’. At that time Moses' sister was watching it.
