Title: For a beautiful end
Contents Paul was a man whom he wrote to live his whole life according to God's will. This text is Paul trying to organize the end of his life. Through this, we also want to share how to prepare for the end of life.
1. You must look back on your life with faith.
Paul in the text is over seventy years old, and as he goes through the joys and sorrows of life due to numerous events and people, he organizes his life from ‘God’s point of view’ and ‘faith point of view’. Paul said that his life was hard and painful, and sometimes he suffered from hunger and even life-threatening (2 Corinthians 1). I have” (Galatians 6:17). In other words, it means a life in which God's crown is expected because we have lived by faith. We are people of faith who confess the work of the living God. Therefore, you also need to illuminate your life from the perspective of God (faith), and when you do, you can see the true meaning of your life. If we change the perspective of our experience and knowledge to the 'view of faith', we will discover how to love God more deeply and how God loved us more even in the midst of life's pain and suffering, and we will be thankful to God for working together for good. will be
It is a time when we also need this confession.
2. Keep the Word of God close at hand.
In verse 13, Paul, who was imprisoned in prison, asks Timothy to bring a 'thick coat' and 'written on leather', that is, the 'Bible', the word of God, for the cold winter.
Why did Paul tell us to bring the Word of God at the end of our lives?
When we do not know how to live, how to manage, or what is the right life, no one can give us an answer, but the Bible is a guide to life. The reason Paul holds on to God's word to the end is because there are promises, fulfillments, and comfort and tomorrow.
3. Have a relationship with God according to the Word of God.
Text At the time of Paul's first missionary journey, Mark fell ill and was healed by Paul's utmost sincerity, but there was an incident where he escaped. However, when Paul was about to go on his second missionary journey, Paul harshly pushed Mark away. For this reason, Paul even had a quarrel with Barnabas, his benefactor, but later reconciled, but Paul seems to have remained in his heart for being cruel to Mark and hurting Mark. So in verse 11 of the text, I ask you to bring Mark with you.
At the end of his life, while staying together with Mark, Paul is trying to untangle the lumps left in each other's hearts and to have an opportunity to love again with God's teaching and love.
May I be able to evaluate and view my life from the Lord's point of view today. The greatest strength in your life is the promised Word of God speaking to me. Furthermore, from the point of view of faith, if the Word of God is in us, what we should do is to say, 'Thank you,' and 'I love you.' I hope you can. I pray in the name of the Lord that this confession will become a confession for you and me.
