Title: For Dry Bones to Survive

Contents

For dry bones to come alive

(Ezekiel 37:1-10)

In today's text, the prophet Ezekiel had a vision full of dry bones. The dry bones symbolize the present state of Israel. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon led a great army to capture Jerusalem, and many people died and were taken captive, and the city of Jerusalem was completely destroyed. The text compares the helpless Israelites living without hope and courage to dry bones. Isn't our life in this day and age, like the Israelites in the text, living like dry bones due to various problems? However, God is offering these people absolute hope from absolute despair through the prophet Ezekiel. Dry bones become a great army. When God works, the environment does not become a problem, and a crisis becomes an opportunity. However, if you look at today's text, absolute despair is turned into absolute hope, and there are some things necessary to become a great army with dry bones.

1. It is faith/v. 3.

In today's verse 3, when God asked Ezekiel if these bones would live, Ezekiel answered that the Lord knows. When there is faith, absolute despair turns into hopeless hope. Therefore, like Ezekiel, we must speak the word of faith. This is because God hears and acts when you speak the word of faith.

2. It is the Word/4.

Where there is the Word, absolute despair is transformed into absolute hope. Therefore, we must keep close to the Word. In Psalm 1, it is said that the blessed are those who are close to the Word, and in Revelation 1:3, it is said that those who are close to the Word are blessed.

First, we must listen carefully to the Word, read it, and obey the Word. Then you will experience the miracles of God.

3. It is a union/v. 7.

When the bones are joined together, they become a person and become a great army. Connection means unity, and it means becoming one. After Jesus ascended to heaven, the work of the coming of the Holy Spirit took place on the day of Pentecost when 120 saints gathered in Mark's upper room to pray with one mind. When we become one, even despair turns into hope. The family must become one, and the church must become one. But the devil keeps dividing us. To become one, we must pray.

4. It is the breath of life, verses 5 and 10.

The original word for ‘vigorous’ here is ‘ruah’, which means ‘wind, breath, spirit’. That is, it is the Spirit of God. When the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, absolute despair turns into hope. In today's text, when prophesying the Word, bones were formed, tendons were formed, skins were applied, and people became completely human and became an army because of the work of the Holy Spirit. We must not rely on our own power, but only on the Holy Spirit.

Organize your words. Just like Ezekiel's vision, dry bones come to life and become a great army. Man cannot do it, but God can. In order to do that, you must have faith in God, concentrate and unite with the Word, and rely on the Holy Spirit.
