Subject: For the Lord!!

Word: Joshua 14:7-12

[7] When I was forty years old, Moses the servant of the LORD sent me out of Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, so I reported to him faithfully in my heart.

[8] My brothers who went up with me melted the people's quarrels;

[9] On that day Moses swore, saying, "Because you have followed the LORD my God completely, the land on which your feet will tread will be your inheritance and your descendants forever and ever."

[10] Now, behold, from the time the LORD spoke these words to Moses, during these forty-five years of Israel's journey in the wilderness, as the LORD had said, he made me alive. Today I am eighty-five years old.

[11] Today, as in the day Moses sent me, I am as strong as ever. My strength, then and now, is the same; I am capable of fighting and going in and out.

[12] Give me this hill country that the LORD spoke of on that day, as you heard from that day, but there are the Anakites there, and their cities are great and fortified. come down

A person's life is like a game. You need to think about how to live the second half of your life in a better and more valuable way. We find in the text a great man who ended the second half of his life nicely. His name is Caleb. He was originally a descendant of Esau, but he was a determined man who naturalized into the tribe of Judah in Israel. And at the age of 40, he was commanded by Moses to spy out the land of Canaan, and he was chosen as the representative of the tribe of Judah and spyed out the land of Canaan together with 11 spies. If you look at verse 7 and below, Caleb himself is revealing his life and faith.

The first record is 'He was a sincere person'.

Verse 7 says, “When I was forty years old, Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I reported to him in the truth of my heart.” In Numbers 13:14, the scene of spying out the land of Canaan for 40 days and returning and reporting it is recorded. The 10 people who went with me reported that it was 100% impossible to enter the land because the land was fertile, but the people were large and strong and the city was strong. But when we read Numbers 13:30, Caleb said, "Let us go up and take possession of the land, for we are well able to overcome it." And according to 14:6 and below, it is a very beautiful land, and if the Lord is pleased with us, we can enter it. Do not disobey God, they said, They are our food. Joshua and Caleb saw the positive side. And only positive people entered the land of Canaan. I hope you believe that only those with positive faith will receive grace and blessings.

Secondly, I followed God's will.

Verse 8 says, "My brothers who went up with me melted the people's quarrels, but I followed the LORD my God completely." It is said that Caleb fully accepted God's will. Caleb believed that it was God who controls life and death. You must live as you please.

Third, the strategy in the second half was excellent.

Verse 10 says, "Now behold, from the time the LORD spoke these words to Moses, during these forty-five years of Israel's journey in the wilderness, as the LORD had promised, he made me alive. Today I am eighty-five years old." In verse 11, he said that he was stronger than he was 45 years ago. The thing to note is, "If God is with me, it is possible!"
