Title: For the poor / Matthew 11:1-5
Contents For the poor / Matthew 11:1-5
Key Verse: “The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached” (verse 5).
Verse: In today's sermon, John the Baptist thought that Jesus was the Messiah of this world, the one who would become the political King. One day, John had a suspicion that Jesus was not the political Messiah, so he sent someone to ask. So when we asked Jesus, “Are you the political Messiah we are waiting for? Say you get .” Then he lived a life of visiting them, living for them, giving them salvation and giving them hope.
What we learn here is that when a person becomes poor, such a heart arises. It's not because we're afraid of that. Who is really poor? They are brothers, sisters and brothers just like us. Let my brother in my house become poor. We can't sleep at night. I have a heart for how to help. Love is like that. God will be pleased when we create a society where our society is filled with the heart that it is okay to be poor, the heart that we are happy even if we are poor.
Prayer: Father God, thank you. Thank you for allowing me to pray for the poor among some of my prayers for the New Year today. In the name of our Savior Jesus, I pray. Amen.
