Title: For the rich/Mark 10:17-25
For the rich / Mark 10:17-25
Key Verse: “Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “It is exceedingly difficult for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God” (verse 23).
Word: In today's verse, it is said that it is very difficult for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God. It is said that it is difficult for the rich to go to heaven, but the problem is that it is not difficult to go to heaven because they are rich. If you become rich, you will not be able to go to heaven because you love money more than God and love money more.
Fundamentally, being rich is also a blessing from God. You cannot be rich without God's blessing. Christian countries are prosperous and we are living in welfare states, but we are a bit biased, but we believe that the Christian gospel made it that way. That's right. If you believe in Jesus well, you will receive blessings from God. What is a blessing? Spiritual things are blessings, but material things are also blessings. It is also precious to be rich if we can. Everyone should be rich. We are not condemning, criticizing, or cursing the rich. You must try and pray to become rich. When you become rich, you can do many good and good deeds. We hope that we can pray to God as much as we can, 'Bless me and make me rich'. The problem is that if you value material things more than God after you become rich, you will become proud and fall with the material things. Strangely, if you have money and time, it is easier to fall than to live according to the Word. Humans are fragile. It is by no means easy for a fragile human to control material well. Throughout history, we can see millions of people who have succumbed to the temptations of material things.
The reason rich people cannot go to heaven is because they become rich illegally, cause suffering to others, become arrogant, and commit sins. If there is a rich man who does many good deeds and uses wealth as a means, not as an end, to live a stewardship life, confessing that ‘God, who has blessed you in this way, is glorified, and everything belongs to God, not mine. I hope that our country can become such a rich country. Please pray that there will be many good rich people in the church and the country. Our society needs clean rich people. We hope that ‘great wealthy people’ who can manage materials with a stewardship attitude and share those materials for their neighbors will overflow in this society.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me so many rich people on this earth. Help them all to believe in Jesus, so that they may become clean and good rich people who live a glorious life pleasing to God with the blessings of God. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
