Title: Forgive and Give (Luke 6:37-38)
Now the year ends with the Lord and the new year begins with the Lord. Our happiness is with the Lord. I hope the new year will be a happy new year with more closeness with the Lord. As we enter the new year, I hope that you will keep in mind two of the words of the Lord to His disciples. It is a word to forgive and a word to give.
The happiest people are those who forgive and those who forgive. Then you will receive more forgiveness. “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). Forgive and you will be forgiven. Forgiveness leads to forgiveness and leads to forgiveness. David was a happy man. Because he was a forgiver, he was a forgiver, and he lived happily ever after receiving more forgiveness. David confessed: “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven and whose sins are covered” (Psalm 32:1). We are against me, but I confess that I love them and pray (Psalm 109:4).
May you be happy people who are forgiven in the new year, and may you become even happier people who forgive others. You must know how to be forgiven, and you must know how to forgive. Then you will receive more forgiveness from God and you will be able to live a happy life. This is the spirit of Christianity and the spirit of the Lord's Prayer. “Forgive one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:12).
I hope that you all become happy people who receive grace in the new year, and that you become even happier people who give grace. You must know how to receive grace, and you must know how to give grace. Then you will receive more grace from God and live happily. This is the spirit of Christianity and the teachings of Jesus. “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16). “Freely you received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). “We must remember that the Lord Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Today's world has become a scary world that criticizes and condemns instead of forgiving, and it has become a ferocious world that takes and takes instead of giving. I hope that you will keep the words of the Lord in your heart today and become happy believers who practice them in the new year. “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven; give, and it shall be given to you” (Luke 6:37,38).
