Title: Four Chariots/Zec 6:1-8
Content 9. Your chariot
Zechariah 6:1-8
“These are the four winds of heaven, which take them before the Lord of the whole world and go out” (Zechariah 6:5).
Some Bible scholars ask whether this is really a vision about the eighth of the nine visions God showed the prophet Zechariah, the four chariots.
There is no doubt that this was also a vision God showed Zechariah.
1. Appearance of the four chariots
“Your chariot came out from between Dusan, and the mountain was brass” (Zechariah 6:1).
The two mountains are the mountains that surround Jerusalem.
If you look far away from Jerusalem toward the Jordan River, there is a mountain range that stands like a folding screen. It is Mount Moriah. Near Jerusalem is the Mount of Olives.
Therefore, from the place where the sanctuary is, and between the mountains, four chariots appear with horses.
But the name of the mountain was Nodsan.
Bronze is of little value today, but in those days it was more valuable than gold or silver.
Therefore, Mount Brass symbolizes protecting the Church of God like Mount Brass.
The fact that the number of chariots is four means four directions, and it shows universality, which means that God brings judgment in all directions.
The four chariots teach that God's judgment will come not only in one limited place, but wherever there is a sin that opposes God.
But your chariot is loaded with horses of various colors.
What else do the colors of these words mean?
Red symbolizes blood.
Blood speaks of death, and heralds a genocide.
Black is a symbol of sorrow and a symbol of death.
White is a symbol of victory, and slurred words mean mixed referee.
2. Representative
“These are the four winds of heaven, which take them before the Lord of the whole world and go out” (Zechariah 6:5).
Your chariots are ministers sent to exercise God's wrath and mercy on earth.
The four winds are a means of spreading to accomplish God's will.
Therefore, your chariots are for the work of God, and they will be scattered all over the world to judge you.
Where are the chariots scattered?
Looking at verse 6, two horses are running especially to the north.
In other words, the northern land refers to the judgment of the land of Babylon. Because Babylon's sins are more severe than any other region, two chariots, a black horse and a white horse, run.
The roaring horses going out to the land of their husbands are going to judge the sins of Egypt.
And a strong horse can be interpreted as a red word.
Therefore, the fact that the red horse roams around means that he does not choose east, west, north, south, east, and west, but goes to wherever there is a crime and judges.
3. Result of Judgment
“Those who went out to the north have refreshed my heart in the north” (Zechariah 6:8).
God's judgment pays according to sin.
To be called sin is to fall short of God's will, to have passed God's will.
In the Olympic Games, there is a competition in which a pistol or a bow is fired at a target.
It is a sin to have an arrow or bullet flying towards the target not reach the target due to lack of strength.
It is a sin to pass by without hitting the target even though you have power.
If God's will is clear, but it falls short of or deviates from it, it is a sin.
In 1 Thessalonians 5, it says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” Did you always rejoice? We have more resentment than joy.
This is falling short of the will of God.
Even though we know that stealing is a sin, we cannot repent for the sins that do not follow God's will.
“You will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth,” he said.
The end of the earth is not the end of the earth in the spatial sense.
Here, the end of the earth includes all levels of human beings and all core lines.
Whether rich or poor, cattle or lepers are the ends of the earth before God.
To fall short of the gospel to them is a greater sin than the sin of lying before God.
The sin of lying, adultery, and stealing are sins that deviate from God's will.
The reason we sin before God is because we fall short of God's will and cannot achieve God's will with our own power and strength.
In judging sinners in this way, God does not delay and thoroughly travels in all directions, east, west, north, and south.
Like a woman imprisoned in an ephah, when her sins are filled, God sends chariots without delay to rule and judge.
Verse 8 tells us that God has done all these judgments and has refreshed our hearts in the north.
When he saw Babylon torment God's people and then destroyed them, he said that God's heart was refreshed.
However, God did not say that it was refreshing to see humans perish.
He said that it was refreshing to see sin destroyed.
Therefore, the devil must die and Satan must perish, not man.
To do this, the saints must be freed from Satan's captivity.
You must no longer do business with Satan.
As long as we do business with the devil, we are bound to perish with Satan.
You have to leave as soon as possible from Jill.
Leaving sin and greed as it is, no matter how much you struggle in front of God, you may not know how you feel before God, but it has nothing to do with God.
St. Augustine, the great theologian and representative of piety, said that he was very afraid to call God the Father 'Holy God'.
It is said that if you call God as a holy God, you will become a dirty sinner who falls to the limitless end.
Thinking about it, how dare we stand before a holy God. Even in front of the person who founded a company, an office worker is desperately tied down, how much more would it be before God, who created the heavens and the earth and created my life?
Nevertheless, God made us His children through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
God loves you so much and has compassion on you, and has made and called you as his children, but we must always have reverence in front of us.
This awe is translated as religiosity.
Religious people have a fear of God.
You must always have a fearful spirit.
The more children respect their father, the more they fear their father rather than fear him.
Therefore, as children mature and mature, they are more careful in front of their parents.
You and I must fear God as the people of God who have been washed with the blood of Christ, free from sin.
Also, just as God's heart has been refreshed because our sins have been removed in the Lord, we also hope that God will be able to heal us by the removal of sins from us.
