When Jesus was teaching the Word in a house in Capernaum, there were so many people there that there was no time to set foot at the door. But when four men came carrying a paralyzed man, they tore off the roof and lowered the table on which the paralyzed man was lying in front of Jesus, and the sick man was cured and returned. The people brought here to heal this sick man can be compared to evangelists who have many things to imitate. Who would be a good evangelist?
1. You must be healthy.
Those who brought the sick were not sick. If they were ill, they would not be able to help others. When the blind lead the blind, they all fall into a stream. A person who is clear and strong in faith can lead others to the Lord.
2. There must be deep interest and love for the sick.
Even if you are healthy, how can you help if you have no interest in the ailments and difficulties of others? When we see people who are wandering without knowing Christ, we can do the work of an evangelist only if we have a heart of interest and help.
3. You must have persistence and passion.
Seeing that there were so many people in that house that they climbed up to the roof and ran down is a great passion. Had they given up, the sick man would have died forever sick. You can save souls only if you have the persistence to overcome everything.
4. Their names were not mentioned, and the glory was given only to God.
Great and hard work, but not a word of praise for them. And, those who gathered gave all glory to God. Later, God must have shared this breath with the evangelists again.
Meditation In ancient Greek mythology, it is said that on some islands there were “Sirens,” goddesses who seduce people, singing beautiful songs, gathering sailors and passengers passing by, and lure them to the island. do. It is said that once, a ship had to pass near the island, and the famous musician Olpiers was on board and played “Haap”. It is said that all the passengers, including the ship owner, were intoxicated with the music and safely sailed through the island where the siren sounded.
Even as a human swims through the seas of life, he often hears the siren of seduction. Then they need a “half” to get them straight across the course of life without falling into temptation. God wants us to be “half.”
