Fragrant saint's prayer / Revelation 8:3-5
Perhaps it was because of that kind of devotion, among the dishes the butler prepared, there was a special meal that I ate very deliciously. However, the interesting thing is that the next day, he visited another area and received lunch, and the delicious food he ate was also on display. I thought it was just that that day, but the next day, I visited another area and had lunch, and what was the food? It was strange, so I asked how this happened. Then, the butler who prepared the food answered:
I personally like the words of 2 Corinthians 5:9, “Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we strive to be pleasing to the Lord.” With that word, I make a slogan, “the church that pleases the Lord,” and make an unchanging resolution that I will use it as an indicator of my lifelong faith and ministry.
We believe that the purpose and goal of life as believers in Jesus is to glorify God and please Him. The Apostle Paul said it in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Satan constantly tempts us to live not for the glory and joy of God, but for his own glory and joy. It is, after all, a life for oneself. If we want to live a life that pleases God, we need to know what pleases God. Today I want to tell you about the things that God is most pleased with and likes. It is 'prayer'. God is most pleased and delights in our prayers to Him.
My eldest child is currently studying abroad, and my second child is now in the military. It has been a little over 9 months since the eldest child left home, and the second child has been away for about 3 months. When the children were at home, we didn't talk much, but when we were away from home, we had more conversations with them. I send and receive letters to and from my eldest child by e-mail, and I communicate with my second child through letters. On average, we send and receive letters and e-mails at least once a week, and it's easy to tell a story that is difficult to tell in words, so it's easy to express that we love each other. When I get a letter from my kids, it's nothing, but I don't read it only once.
Read it at least three times. I thought it was just me, but so are my kids. Especially since my second child is just beginning to suffer as a private soldier in the military, I used to read the letters of my wife and I several times. I usually read letters in the bathroom because it brings tears to my eyes every time I read letters from Mom and Dad.
If anyone asks me what I am most happy about these days, I would say that I am writing letters to and from my children. I can't be happier that children write letters to me, that they speak to me.
Prayer is speaking to God. God delights in us speaking to Him. Confess your joys, sorrows, worries, all things to God. God delights in it. That is why today's Bible speaks of prayer as 'the incense of a golden censer'. I know why the Bible says prayer is the incense of a golden censer. Our prayers are like the incense of a golden censer to God. Yes. No doubt.
Do you want to live a life that pleases God? If so, I hope you live a life of prayer to God. I hope that you will be able to spend time talking to God. I hope that all of you and me who live by offering the incense of a fragrant golden incense burner to God can be. Amen.
