Title: Freedom from Christ/ Galatians 5:1/
Contents
1. Words that begin
If you hold a diamond in your hand and don't know its value, you throw it away like a stone. Adam obeyed God's word and gained the freedom to rule and rule all things, but with that freedom he disobeyed God's word and caused the misfortune of following Satan. Zhuangzi, a thinker of the Warring States period, said, "A pheasant living in nature is much happier than a pheasant who walks ten steps to pick up a bean and eats it, and walks a hundred steps to drink a sip of water, but is locked up in an enclosure and feeds on human food. do,” he said. Jean-Jacques Rousseau, an 18th-century French thinker, in his book 'On the Weakness', said, "To give up freedom is to give up one's qualifications as a human being."
2. Servant Life
Even though freedom is so precious, not many people fully appreciate its value. Also, even those who know the value of freedom can actually find themselves enslaved in some way or another. In general, the causes of unwanted slavery are ignorance, want, and sin. No matter how much you want to be free, if you are ignorant of certain aspects, you will inevitably be unfree in that aspect, and if you do not have anything, you will have no choice but to live unfreely. Moreover, once you have sinned, you are completely stuck in your nose.
Even though I have read 600 to 700 English books to the end due to studying theology and writing commentaries, I can’t speak at all, so I don’t know how inconvenient I was when I went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. If you are tall, do you have a long tongue? . Why do they wiggle their tongues like that? I can't even speak Korean on a topic... .
After all, ignorance and lack are what make a person unfree.
It is said that a member of Parliament who was out of town stopped by Germany. Despite the embassy staff's advice to be careful not to get lost, he went out alone and started to get lost. The lawmaker, who could not speak English or German, eventually called the Korean embassy. "Look, I'm a member of parliament and I'm lost." The employee who answered the phone said, "Where are you now?" I asked. The senator then became furious. "Hey, if you know where this is, will you call me and go to the hotel?" Another embarrassed embassy officer asked. “Sir, look around the place where you are calling and read a signboard.” Then the senator said, "Hold on, Ein van Strasse (one-way street)..."
It is sin that enslaves man more than ignorance and want. To the Jews who protested, "Why do you say that you will be set free, since you were a descendant of Abraham and never became a slave," Jesus said in John 8:34, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." And Romans 3:10 says there is no one righteous, not even one. All human beings are under the dominion of sin and death, and therefore no human being can be called free, apart from God, the source of life. All human beings outside the atoning Lord Jesus Christ are slaves. There are people who are slaves to wealth, power, and fame, as well as very insignificant things, even to death.
A man who graduated from a prestigious university started drinking and eventually became a slave to alcohol. Once, I had a drink with a similar friend. Drink, drink, drink again... I continued to drink so much that I didn't even know how much I drank, and suddenly I felt like I was going to die if I drank more, so I raised my hand. However, I stopped drinking more Naked and died. He too was hospitalized and barely survived. But even after that, I couldn't come to my senses and I continued to live intoxicated with alcohol. This time, his wife, a public school teacher, could not bear it and committed suicide. Still, I can't stop drinking. A friend who is a minister preached hard. Each time the person sobs and says something. "My wife died, but now I believe in Jesus, what can I do? Since my wife died because of alcohol, I must die from alcohol."
In 2 Peter 2:19, it says, "If you say you give them freedom, you are slaves to perdition, for whoever loses is a slave to the one who overcomes." As with the fate of slaves, life as slavery due to ignorance, lack, and sin and defeat is bound to lead to misery and destruction.
The way to become a thief among thieves, a robber among robbers, a murderer among murderers, and a tool among Satan's tools is to take another's country. Unless you become a great servant of Satan, you cannot take away another's kingdom. Of course, it is also a problem for the people to fail to contribute to the world by developing the country firmly according to God’s will with the freedom God has given them, but they have taken away all the freedoms of a country and made them slaves, and they have lost everything in the sky, the earth, and the sea. The predatory invaders are an absolutely evil race and are the servants of Satan.
I once visited a memorial called 'Yad Vashem' in Jerusalem. It is a museum that commemorates the approximately 6 million Jews who were killed by the German Nazis in Europe during World War II. At the entrance to the memorial, it is written, "We forgive them, but we will never forget them."
Our fellow Koreans, who have suffered similar misfortunes, forgive Japan for committing all kinds of atrocities, but we must never forget their atrocities. We must never forget our ancestors who died after brutal torture while fighting for our country's freedom and independence. We must never forget their majestic brilliance.
Because God lifted up the Allied Forces and liberated them, some people blinded by lust for government hired pro-Japanese to make them active, and they tried to erase the patriots from the minds of the people… . The people who were subordinated to them and followed them should also be awakened. In this climate, it is still impossible to perform without drinking American water or Japanese water, and this should be rectified.
After all, would a professor who went to America go to Harvard University on purpose, put his mouth on the faucet, and drank until his stomach exploded? Anyway, that's how you became a professor in the United States, and also Harvard University.
3. Christ the liberating
Now, we must preach the Savior Jesus Christ so that all people can know the value of freedom and be prepared to protect and enjoy freedom even risking their lives. Otherwise, the people will inevitably be subjugated to the dictators, and consequently to the superpowers in terms of politics, military, economy, and culture. Individual's ignorance, lack, defeat, and sin are the ways to become slaves to others, and the ignorance, want, defeat, and sins of a nation are the ways to become slaves to other nations.
4. Conclusion
Freedom is an essential element of man that God created when he created man, so that he could freely fellowship with him, not as a slave. However, with that freedom, man forsook God's word and obeyed Satan's voice, so he became a slave to sin and death. However, God sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross to set mankind free from slavery to sin and death. Our freedom is the Lord's gift of life. We earnestly pray that we will never again be subject to the yoke of slavery, so that we will always obtain true knowledge, abundant blessings, and victory in the Lord who redeemed us.
