Title: Fruitless Figs
Today... Let's take a look at 'Fruits' together.
Now that I am in my late fifties,
It is true that the word fruit is a burden on the mind these days.
The Bible compares faith to a tree in several places.
As Jesus entered the city, he saw a fig tree that was 'unfruitful'.
The curse words are written down.
That is... he is talking about false prophets and Pharisees who have only a leaf.
Although it looks splendid on the outside, using the 'knowledge of the Word' given by the Lord as a material for its own interests
It deceives innocent souls and leads them on the road to destruction.
He showed the disciples the image of the final judgment against the Jewish intellectuals and false prophets.
“You will know them by their fruits.
Will you pick grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?" {Matthew 7:16}
A tree must bear fruit.
There is nothing more embarrassing to look at than a fruitless tree.
Wasted land and no fruit in harvest season
Whenever he sees a tree standing tall, what will the owner think...?
But above all else, the words we need to examine deeply in the text are
Recording the same event, 'In the Gospel of Mark...' the Lord
It was not the season for fruit when he was about to get the fruit.
But why did the Lord go to get fig fruits...
The meaning of the word is that we do not know when God will confirm 'our fruit'.
"Therefore, stay awake... One day,
For you do not know whether your Lord will come." {Matthew 24:42}
Then... What kind of fruit does God really want from us?
Receive great power, raise the cripple
Healing a paralyzed person... Is it to light up the eyes of the blind?
How long will we do that 'healing of the body' on this earth?
It is said that a man's life is seventy, and a strong man is eighty.
The body is just a vessel that contains our spirit.
The fruit that God truly desires is a 'meek heart' to live together in the eternal heaven.
As theologian Matthew Henry said, you can go to heaven without a gift,
He said that we cannot go to heaven without grace that has changed our hearts.
"Are all those who have the gift of healing? Are all of them speaking in tongues? Are they all interpreters?
Desire ye greater gifts, and I will show you the best way.” {1 Corinthians 12:30-31}
'The center of the whole Bible is the resurrection...'
The Apostle Paul said that if we wish
'If it were only this world,' he said, he was more pitiful than everyone else.
Then, in what form will it be resurrected?
Will we all be resurrected in the same form...?
The Bible constantly records rewards.
We should be able to see 'the reality of heaven..' here.
Heaven is not a place where you live without any thoughts or feelings... just for joy.
It is many times more real than this world.
'In the kingdom of God,' the shape of our resurrection will be different according to each person's reward.
Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth
A person wakes up and says, 'There are some who will receive eternal life..'
Some will be put to shame, and some will be put to shame forever.. {Dan 12:2}
Today... 'of the fig tree,' through the message
We pray that our lives that look forward to the reward of heaven will bear abundant fruit.
“When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you will also appear with him in glory.” {Col 3:4}
