Title: Future Promise

The Eiffel Tower was built at the Paris World Exposition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. By erecting a 300-meter-high tower that seemed to reach the sky, engineers praised it as a 'victory of science and industry', but on the other hand, criticism and protests such as 'ugly iron lump', 'vulgar image' , 'a factory chimney-like rubbish' It is said that the building Eiffel was in trouble for a while. The Eiffel once dwelt above the Eiffel Tower to dispel and persuade many of its opponents.

Eventually, his efforts made the Eiffel Tower a favorite among Parisians and artists. Painters began to use the Eiffel Tower as the subject of their paintings, and various music and literary works with the Eiffel Tower as the background began to pour in. However, it did not end there and the Eiffel Tower had to go through many hardships after that. Because the condition of renting the place was 20 years, it had to be demolished after 20 years. Then, as it was used as a radio tower, many people made an effort to save the tower, and eventually the Eiffel Tower became the representative structure of France today. I would like to imitate Gustav Eiffel's persistence and hard work.

Many people can't see the future. However, even if there are difficulties today and pain or sorrow for the saints, there is a ‘promise for the future’. Today's text goes through Isaiah 53, which prophesied the suffering of the Messiah, and now there is a message that promises liberation and restoration. The first promise is to broaden the realm of our lives. He tells us to spread out the tents, veils, ropes, stakes, etc., and make them long and firm (verse 2). Please do not cling to one place or one hope, but expand your territory broadly, greatly and firmly according to God's promises.

The second promise is to change your quality of life. He said to make desolate cities a place for people to live (verse 3). Don't believe the promises of realtors or politicians, the promises of environmentalists, and the promises of businessmen. This is because promises can vary according to profit and profit conditions. Only God can change the quality of our lives.

The third promise is that He restores our lives. For a while they have been abandoned, but they will be gathered (v. 7), and hid for a while, but have mercy (v. 8). Notice the word ‘a moment’. If you endure for a little while, you will see the salvation of God. Look at the history of recovery. Experience holding on to power. Are you looking at the ‘promise of the future’ with the eyes of faith? You will win.

* Prayer: I believe in the Lord's promises even though it is difficult and difficult today. In the name of Jesus, who enlarges, transforms and restores my life, I pray. Amen.
