Title: Give me this mountain now. Bible: Joshua 14:6-15
All of Jochiwon-eup, Yeongi-gun, where we live, will be promoted to Sejong Special City from July 1, 2012. All of us will be upgraded to Sejong citizens. I believe that God has blessed this area and I am thankful. In order for our church to do greater things, God has given this year's motto, “Give me this mountain now” (Joshua 14:12). These mountains are, of course, the areas we live in. To make this area holy, you must occupy the spiritual highlands. To occupy the spiritual heights, you must have faith that pleases God. Hebrews 11:6 - “Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Amen.
It was Caleb who prayed, “Give me this mountain now.” Caleb is 85 years old. However, he is in his forties and has the faith to calm the mountains. (Joshua 14:10-12) The courageous prayer of the old man Caleb has become our prayer and there is a history of expanding the kingdom of God and making it holy. congratulations on
1. Faithful prayer.
Caleb's name means "with all your heart." Give me this mountain now! The mountain of prayer is the land of Hebron. Hebron (Joshua 14:15) is an impregnable fortress inhabited by Anak giants. This is the land that Caleb promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Genesis 23:19-“Abraham buried his wife Sarah in a cave in the field of Machpelah, in front of Mamre in the land of Canaan.”
1) Caleb is a man of faith who believes in God's promises. In Numbers 14, 12 spies from the land of Canaan return and report in front of Moses and the people. Ten spies gave negative reports. However, Joshua and Caleb gave a positive report. (Joshua 14:7) Moses told Caleb at this time, Numbers 14:24-“My servant Caleb has a different heart and has followed me completely; I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will come to him. I will possess the land.” Caleb believed this promise. Although 45 years have passed, God is the God who fulfills the promises we believed in our 40s (Joshua 14:7).
2) Caleb believed that God was with him. Joshua 14:12 - "You also heard from that day, that there are Anakites there, and their cities are great and fortified, but if the LORD is with me, I will drive them out, just as I have spoken to the LORD." The 85-year-old man 40 Even if you have representative health, you are human. You cannot defeat the offspring by force. We have won because God is with us. 1 Samuel 17:41-54 David's strength cannot defeat Goliath, the leader of the Philistines. God, who is stronger than the giant Goliath, was with him and he won. David wrote in Psalm 18:1, “I love you, O LORD my strength.”
2. Be loyal.
Numbers 14:8 - "Because I was faithful to the LORD my God" 9 - "Moses swore on that day, saying, "Because you have been faithful to the LORD my God, the land on which your feet tread will be your inheritance and your descendants forever." Jesus Silver Revelation 2:10 - "Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life." Heb 3:5-6 “Moses was faithful to God as a servant in all the house, and Christ was faithful as a son over the house of God.” Matthew 25:14-29 The servants who received five talents and two talents calculated the profit of the ship. well done, good and faithful servant, since you have been faithful over a few things, I will entrust you with many things; enter into the joy of your master. Caleb was loyal at the age of 40, and lived faithfully at the age of 85.
Today, the members of our church are faithful even when they are young and faithful even when they retire. Those who are loyal make the dreams of visions come true.
“Conclusion” Caleb finally conquered Hebron. Joshua 14:15-“The war ceased in the land” Later, the land of Hebron became famous as the place where David was anointed by the king (2 Samuel 5:3). Where is Hebron today? Give me this mountain now! Let's make our prayer subject.
