Title: Give thanks to God / Psalm 106:1

Title: Thank God

Bible: Psalm 106:1

Hallelujah, give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his mercy endures forever.

The God who sent us to the world who made our lives beautiful, the God who performed the miracle of five diseases to the people who returned after hearing the word of truth, the God who heals and restores all diseases and weaknesses of those who come to Jesus, I praise His name .

The greatest gratitude and joy in our lives is to serve God.

Let's all sing the gospel chant to the holy God.

Gospel Song - Holy God

I pray that your life will be a source of blessings under God's guidance.

Today, I will prophesy with the title of giving thanks to God with the text of Psalm 106:1.

This article is introduced in the “Mystery of the Human Body” section of the book “The Mystery of the Human Body” written by Dr. Hwang Seong-ju.

There is a famous saying by Hippocrates, “Nature heals the sick, and the doctor takes the money.”

It happened when I was in my 3rd year of medical school. I remember what a professor who was famous in his name at the time said during a lecture.

"Diseases are not cured by doctors. Doctors only help with treatment, but the real treatment is based on the natural healing power of the human body. To be proud of yourself that you have treated a patient is to refer to yourself as a fledgling doctor. Doctors should approach treatment with humility."

Dr. Hwang Seong-ju confesses that he became sober when listening to this lecture.

It means that when God created us, He already gave our bodies a mysterious power so that we could heal ourselves.

That's why doctors don't see the symptoms as a disease, but as a healing process.

For example, who has diarrhea? Symptoms. The symptoms let people know that they ate the wrong food and that something is wrong with their body. But what are the symptoms? It is said that the body is a process of self-healing. It means that our body is urgently responding to the wrong food on its own.

In other words, diarrhea is the result of a person swallowing the wrong food without knowing and the body knows and reacts. he didn't know It was pleasing to the eye and delicious, so I ate a lot, and my body recognized it. But the owner has already swallowed it. How do I do this ? The body moves tensely, regardless of the will of the owner. So, diarrhea is the body's urgent response to the wrong food.

Diarrhea does not come from my will. Ah- I ate the wrong food and it's a big deal. It's not meant to be expelled quickly. I don't know and my body is reacting.

This is the mystery. It's not something I want to become. God has already bestowed mysterious graces on our bodies regardless of our will. Who created this mysterious body reaction? It was created by God.

That is why some doctors approach the symptoms not as a mere disease, but as a mysterious healing power in the human body. So, when a patient with diarrhea occurs, it is not to stop diarrhea unconditionally, but to have it defecate (because it needs to get rid of things harmful to the body quickly). However, if a quack doctor or pharmacist tells you that you have diarrhea, they will only give you medicine to stop it unconditionally, but that would be a bigger problem.

So, Dr. Hwang Seong-ju said that if someone has diarrhea, of course, he should go to the doctor, but first, he should drink a lot of water and continue to have diarrhea, preventing dehydration and causing diarrhea to excrete harmful and poisonous food.

Dear saints! I pray that you thank God for his grace and the mysterious grace he has bestowed upon life. And not only the mysteries of the body, but there are many things we have to thank God for. Everything in the universe and everything we eat, wear, drink, and sleep are all we are grateful for. But what is the reason we are especially grateful for, recorded in the text we read today?

1. Because of the goodness of God.

God's goodness is that he cares for us. Just as a shepherd takes care of his sheep, God takes care of us with his sincerity.

Isaiah 41:10

Do not be afraid, for I am with you.

I am your God, and I will strengthen you.

I will help you, indeed, my righteous

I will hold you with my right hand

Psalm 103:3-5

He forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases.

redeem your life from ruin and crown yourselves with kindness and mercy

covering

Satisfy your wishes with good things, with your youth

renewing like the eagle.

Even though we left God and betrayed Him, God loves us unconditionally. This is the goodness of God.

2. The second reason to give thanks to God is because of God's kindness.

Mercy is God's patience with our sins. Please forgive me.

Joel 2:13

Rend your hearts and not your clothes, and return to the LORD your God.

He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness.

You change your mind and do not bring disaster.

If we do what we do, we are already judged. Our hearts are like this at times.

“Doesn’t heaven take away that enemy?”

Yes, the God who sees our actions will want to take us too. But you are patient.

If God had not been patient, he would have already taken us as well as that sinner. to hell But he was patient and waited.

That is why we are in this blessed place today.

We have nothing to say other than thanking us for what the God of heaven loves us for, and for waiting and waiting for us. As sinners, we can only thank you.

3. If you know God's love and the grace that He has bestowed upon you, you will overflow with gratitude and joy.

The apostle Paul was imprisoned for preaching the gospel. However, the prison was not a prison, but a field of ministry. The reason is that Paul knew that God's grace was present even in prison. You can tell by looking at his confession.

James 1:12 My brethren, count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds.

Philippians 1:12 I want you to know, brethren, that what happened to me was actually progress in the gospel.

Because I trusted God, I had no worries, no worries, no worries. Thank you for everything.

So what I wanted to do was pray, what I did was evangelism and worship.

This is someone's testimony.

Realizing God's love and realizing it, I realized that all the worldly things that I had pursued and worked so hard before seemed to be in vain. The value of that person's life has increased.

This is the image of a person who knows God.

4. What is a season?

A feast is a day that is designated and given meaning and content on a certain day, and the day is regularly commemorated. Thus, while keeping the festival, we are reminding ourselves of the meaning of the festival in our lives anew. Feasts are days to think of God, look to God, and give thanks to God.

There are five major feasts in the New Testament church.

1) It is a weekday.

This Sunday is the Sabbath, a feast to worship on the first day of every week while looking at God who created it. So, through Sunday worship, we remember and confess that God is the Creator and the Father of man.

2) There is Christmas Day.

Christmas is a season related to salvation, and it is a season to remember and commemorate the Savior Jesus sent by God.

3) There is Easter.

Easter is a season related to heaven, that is, eternal life, and is a season to see and believe in the hope that we too will be resurrected by seeing the resurrection of Jesus.

4) There is the Thanksgiving Day.

This feast is about food and life, and it is a season to give thanks to God for giving us food and life as we spend a year and a half. That's why we use the word "maekchu", which is related to the harvest of summer crops such as barley and wheat.

5) There is Thanksgiving.

This festival is also a festival to give thanks for the year as it is related to food and life.

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving Day. There are many days, but especially on Thanksgiving Day, we need to think, know, and give thanks once again that it is God who sent us into the world, God who made us live in the world, and God who will lead us to the eternal kingdom. do.

Dear saints! Thank you.

When you give thanks to God in heaven, you will taste the greater works of God. Amen?

Those who are thankful are to reap thanks in this world because they sow it.

It's the world's way. This is true both in faith and in personal life.

Try complaining and dissatisfaction in everything. You will certainly reap the fruits of murmuring and dissatisfaction.

Now another blessed day awaits us. Today and tomorrow are blessing days. On this day, I pray that you will become all the saints who do not accumulate a list of curses and judgments by doing wrong things, but do goodness and righteousness to build up happiness and crowns in this world and heaven.
