Genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:1-17)
Dear saints in Jesus Christ! The New Testament begins with the words, "The genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of Abraham and David." The word genealogy means genealogy. The genealogy of Jesus Christ is recorded in Matthew 1. How did you read today's text? Did you have fun? However, there is a surprising truth in this boring genealogy of Jesus Christ. Who is Jesus Christ? Today is the 4th Sunday of Advent. This is the last week of preparation and waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ. Next Thursday is Christmas and Christmas Day. This morning, I want to share the grace of thinking about the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
I. lord of life
The genealogy of Jesus Christ testifies that Jesus came as the Lord of life. There are two great genealogies in the Bible. One is the genealogy of Adam and the other is the genealogy of Jesus Christ. The genealogy of Adam is found in Genesis 5. What is the conclusion here, "who gave birth to whom and how many years lived and died"? It's "dead". What are you talking about? It is saying that because Adam, the ancestor of mankind, sinned, all people in Adam must die. The genealogy of Jesus Christ is found in the text of Matthew chapter 1. It includes 'who begat whom and begotten ... "It continues. The characteristic of the genealogy of Jesus Christ is that there is no word "dead." To be born and continue in this way means the continuation of life. In Jesus Christ, who is the true life, life continues forever. The genealogy of Jesus Christ tells us that we do not die in Jesus Christ, we enjoy eternal life.
II. lord of forgiveness
III. Lord of Hope
Dear all! I hope this year's Christmas will be a Christmas of receiving Jesus Christ. Jesus, who came in the most difficult times, the most desperate times, and the most tragic times, became the true light and the true hope! Jesus is the key to solving all problems! I wish you a Christmas when you receive this Jesus. "I am glad that the Savior has come" I pray that this hymn will become my hymn. I wish you a Christmas when you tell our neighbors the coming of this Jesus Christ.
