Title: General Samson

Contents

Unlike the other judges, Samson was born with a vow of pious parents, was raised in faith in a family of faith, and was a person with high expectations for the future who received the power and ability to kill 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey. However, contrary to our expectations, Samson fails to properly use his power once and falls into a life of chasing after women and turning a millstone.

Why did Samson fall? Because he was a solitary general. As a solitary general, it refers to a person who ignores the opinions of others and handles them alone.

Man was created impact without the help of someone. So there are always many people around successful people. But there is no one around Samson. He did everything on his own without any help. Working alone is easy on the inside. There is nothing to be misunderstood, so I just do what I have to do. But a person who works alone is good when he is doing well, but when he is broken, he falls without hesitation. God assigns people to work with. Aaron and Hur were assigned to Moses, and Barnabas to Paul.

Marriage is also a way that God fills in our shortcomings. Therefore, marriage should pray to God and receive guidance. However, Samson does not pray to God for marriage so easily and ignores the advice of his parents and decides to marry a Philistine woman based only on appearances that are pleasing to his own eyes.

He said that he was trying to attack the Philistines with the pretext of marrying a Philistine woman. However, marriage is for happiness through helping each other, and should never be used as a means to defeat the enemy. When marriage is used as a means, it becomes unhappy.

In order to prevent Samson's wrong marriage, God sends a messenger to stop and warn him on the way to the Philistines with his parents. But Samson, not knowing the will of God who sent the messenger, kills the lion and goes to Timnah in the Philistines. God does not judge those people right away. Be sure to warn first.

There is only disappointment and frustration waiting for Samson, a solitary general who runs to ignore God's warning.
