Title: Genesis 1:1-19

Contents Genesis 1:1-19 <Let there be light>

I. When God created the heavens and the earth, He describes them in three words. It is said that the earth was chaotic and empty, and darkness was over the deep. The world of chaos, emptiness, and darkness is what it looked like when the universe was created.

Today, on the first Sunday of this year, let's think about how we can live a good life in God's sight as we watch God solve this chaos, void, darkness and make it look good in His sight.

II. In order for us to live this year in a good way in the sight of God,

1. Let's receive the light of the Word. The first word God says is “Let there be light.” When the light comes along with the Word, heaven and earth brighten and the true nature of darkness is revealed, the darkness recedes, and God begins to work in earnest.

In order for us to truly live beautifully before God, we must have the light of the Word above all else. If we go out into the world, we are affected by too much darkness. darkness ensues. Therefore, we must receive the light of the Word. A world with too much education, entertainment, and so much to darken us. However, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119). I hope that all the darkness in our lives will be illuminated by the light of your word. Let's make a plan to receive the light of God's Word at the beginning of the year. Read, listen, recite, meditate,,,,,,,,,,,, If you are too time-pressed and tired, please enjoy the sermon you listen to every week and apply it to your life. With the light of these words, I hope that all of us, our family, our bodies, and the church will all be healthy and lead a life that is good in the sight of God.

To live this year in a good way in the sight of God

2. Let's clarify our stance as believers. God hates ambiguity. He is the one who makes our vague things clear. In the religious life, attitude is very important. Success or failure depends on your posture.

God has defeated the darkness and now removes the chaos of the water-filled world. Much of the Earth's water, which is surrounded by water, is sent up out of the atmosphere (the firmament). That is, water above the firmament (until Noah's Flood). Still, he causes the much water that is still left to be gathered in one place, perhaps even an iceberg, and finally the dry land, or the land, is exposed. God hates our ambiguity. You like the obvious. Therefore, we, the children of God, also clarify our consciousness and attitude as believers, and if God tells us to quit, we will do it.

Forefather of our faith 1) To Abraham-Go! 2) Refuse to be called the son of Moses-Pharaoh's princess, 3) Joshua Choose whom you will serve today! Choose today! As for me and my house, we will serve only the Lord.

With the coming of Jesus, history is clearly divided into bc and ad. But we can't decide, we bow down to idols and worship God, and it's very vague.

Aren't we confused by the backlog of too many things?

Ex) Just as a disease comes when too much fat accumulates in the body, chaos comes when unnecessary things keep accumulating in our minds and homes. Let us boldly remove any obstacles in our path of pilgrimage. What to cut off and what to throw away, let's make it clear. Example) It is said that 90% of our desks will have to be thrown away. Things that are never used even after 3-6 months are practically unnecessary. Rather, they clutter and complicate life. It's chaos.

As the year begins, I hope that you will have a strong heart and make a decision to restore a clearer self-portrait of the saints than before.

In order to live this year in a good way in the sight of God,

3. Live a purposeful life. If we have a purpose in life, we all live with a plan. But if there is no purpose, darkness, chaos, and emptiness reside again.

He talks about the calendar, which can be an important medium in our lives. A calendar is a word that includes all the days, months, and times of the year. Dividing the year becomes the month, dividing the month becomes the day, and dividing the day becomes the time. Since everything is happening in this time, how you handle time is a really important issue.

In fact, there is nothing more important than time to modern people. A person who manages time well can lead a successful life, and if he fails to manage a new book, he will actually fail in everything.

Then let's see how God has placed a calendar in our lives.

1) He made two great lights to rule the day and the night. And he made the signs, the four o'clock, the date, and the number of years. The two lights are the sun and the moon. He created the sun and the moon to rule the day and night of the world in which humans live. Of course, to borrow a scientific expression, it can be said that God put the earth into the orbit of the solar system.

In any case, God is the Lord with a very large-scale ability to make the sun and the moon.

To such a vast God, the sun and the moon are the same as the organs of people who wear chess. That is why, in today's text, the two lights are simply used as the word '' (large, pillar). It's about a 'candlestick' or 'electric stand'. Just as we move the stand from place to place according to our convenience, so God deals with the sun, moon, and stars.

If it is our father and the old father who treated us on such a large scale---Shin-Gwang--, wouldn't we have a lot of pride and space in our hearts? That the great Lord loved the smallest earth and gave us the sun, moon, and stars.

The more you get to know this great God, the more thrilled, bold, and humble you become. If we do not have grace in our hearts, we may not be moved by the gift of 365 days of living with God.

Let's thank the great Lord for giving us the sun, moon, and stars so that we can keep them in their proper place so that we can enjoy them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year this year.

However, even the “year, month, date, and time” made by the sun and the moon were used as material for idolatry. In Korea, there are four pillars of a person's life. The year, month, day, hour, and hour of a person's birth determine a person's eight-fold fate. So, when you go to fortune-telling, the first thing the zodiac asks is something. This is, in a word, very stupid calendar worship. The only thing you should not use the calendar as a medium for idolatry is the year, month, date, and time to fulfill God's will.

2) Seating

Let's read 17-18 in today's sermon. God placed them in the firmament of heaven to give light to the earth, to rule day and night, to separate light from darkness.

At the time of the creation of the world, God placed the sun, moon, and stars in their places. Even now, they are silently fulfilling their roles in their assigned positions.

*Let's keep our seats well.

**Let's allocate time well too.

. This year, we were also given 12 months and 365 days as a gift. There are 52 Sundays. But we are very busy. That's why I always say I'm busy, I'm busy. We have to read the Bible, we have to read, we gather for worship and prayer, and there are many things to do, but if we manage our time well, we have enough time and there are still 364 days.

Depending on what you put where and what you do first, you can spend the same amount of time but in abundance. Time, life, money, and dark nights come and go. I hope that this year, you will be rich in time and that everything else will be prosperous this year by making it a habit to keep our seats and do the most important and urgent first.
