Title: Genesis 6:1-22

<Text> Genesis 6:1-22

1. Lamech, who gave birth to a son, named his son ‘Noah’ to mean that he would be a comforter to those who labor on the earth (Genesis 5:28-29). ‘Noah’ means ‘comfort’. Lamech regarded human beings toiling on the earth as worthy and worthy of consolation. However, those who were revered as 'braves' or 'celebrities' by the people at that time were nothing more than 'Nephilim' in God's eyes (verse 4). The Hebrew word ‘Nephilim’ means ‘giant’ and at the same time ‘tyrant’ and ‘rogue’. God's evaluation and human evaluation are different in this way. Even today, I can be respected by the world and treated as a celebrity. However, if I do not put the right relationship with God first, in the eyes of God, I will be nothing more than an 'unrighteous' (Jeremiah 2:19).

2. When God created the heavens and the earth, He created all things with all His heart for six days until He created man on the last day. However, when the world was full of human iniquity, God swept away not only man but also all kinds of animals and birds (verse 7). Without man, nothing in this world meant any more to God. British people hated Madame Simpson as a divorcee, and moreover, she had to give up the throne to marry her. Do you know? God loves you today to the extent that if it were not for you, he would forsake everything in this world. No matter what situation you are in today, this is why you should be confident in yourself (Zep 3:17).

God! Punch a window to God in the ceiling of my soul. I only look up to God. With the grace of God, guide me to walk the path of the righteous today, and help my workplace and family to fulfill their mission as the ark in this age. Amen.
