Title: Get Out of Him

Contents

Acts 16:11-18 Come out of him Subject: 16. Power. 2006. 6. 4.

Introduction

: Paul and his companions arrived in Philippi, and Lydia, a merchant, was the first convert in Europe.

Lydia is setting the example of a great convert who moved many people to believe in Christ (12-15).

It is a battle of abilities that appeared during evangelism. It is a scene where the power of sin that dominates mankind and the power of the name of Jesus oppose (16~18).

1. Immediate obedience to the call (11)

2. Lydia's Conversion (12-15)

3. Ability (16-18)

1. Immediate obedience to the Lord's call (11)

Since the path was decided, we did not delay and followed God's guidance.

The missionary trip was to help Europe in need of salvation and earnestly seek the glorious salvation of God and Jesus.

Question: If all the ministers who were called, all believers, all churches, and all common believers immediately obeyed, wouldn't everyone have already been saved?

my thoughts: no

2. Lydia's conversion (12-15): Paul's co-workers were Silas, Timothy, and Luke the physician.

The society at that time was an immoral society, where crime, immorality, and injustice were rampant.

* Religion and idols were seen as objects that radiate human instinctual desires and instincts.

* The gods were the gods of fertility, and the priests and priestesses were prostitutes.

* Corruption has become a common practice. This made it very difficult for people with moral standards, especially women, to live. So many converted to Judaism.

(Believed that God required a clean, holy life and a life that respected manners and order)

One). I went to a place of prayer on the Sabbath (12-13)

It was about a mile from the city, and because there were not enough Jews to build a synagogue, people went to the riverside to pray.

① The river provided water for the washing rituals included in Jewish ceremonies.

② Several Jews gathered to pray. there were only women

*Jewish law states that there must be at least ten men for the Torah (Torah) to be read.

2). Lydia listened (14)

① It was a business selling self-made textiles.

* Purple fabrics were used by Roman citizens and royalty.
