Title: Glorification of a New Being
Text/ John 12:23-30, Matthew 7:21-23
1. Introduction
<New Being> has a triple meaning. The first is justification, the second is sanctification, and the third is glorification. In fact, these three things are not separate from each other, nor are they a step-by-step process like a water supply. These three may be religious events in which these three elements can occur almost simultaneously in a person who has met Jesus Christ and becomes a new being. This faith event is a revolutionary transformation that completely changes the person who met Jesus Christ. However, for the convenience of explanation, I am trying to explain the contents of the new existence by force.
Justification is an inner change of consciousness that leads to a complete change in the direction of life by meeting Jesus Christ and realizing a new existence. When it comes to transforming inner spiritual training, glorification is the outward existence of the new being, which is naturally revealed as a result of justification and sanctification.
2. What is Glorification to God?
Giving glory to God is the fulfillment of God's will, not man's, in concrete real life. Then the question <What is the will of God?> is raised. There may be various discussions, but in the following words of Jesus himself, we can see what it means to have God's will done.
*Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:21).
*I came down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me (John 6:38-39).
*Father, save me from this hour, but for this I have come.” And a voice came from heaven, saying, I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again (John 12:27-28).
God constantly reveals the will of God to the new beings through the Word of the Bible and the inner voice. Glory to God is when a new existence in real life lives according to God's will, not his own.
3. What did Jesus say is the will of God?
Jesus summed up all of his teachings in just two commandments. It was these two great commandments that ran through the entire life of Jesus. This is the love of God and the love of man (Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:25-28). Therefore, to glorify God is to keep and do these two commandments.
4. Then, how will we give glory to God specifically?
first. It is to love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, just as Jesus said. When you read, listen, prepare, pray, sing praises, donate, serve the church, do so in spirit and truth.
How many people today are turning the church into a den of robbers (Matthew 21:13)? Are you using it as a way to make money? Are you making it a high-class socializing venue? He tells you not to do that. True worship is true love of God and glorifying God.
second. As Jesus said, love your neighbor as yourself. The Apostle John, specializing in these verses, said, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. If you love one another, then all will know that you are my disciples.” 13:34-35> said. The meaning of love here is complex.
(1) To love like a good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37)
(2) Love the least of them (Matthew 25:31-45)
(3) Above all else, it is to love by preaching the gospel (John 3:16, 8:31-32, 17:17-21)
How formal is our love today? How many love programs are held every year with no pity, on a budget, in the spirit of a show? He tells us not to love without a heart, but to love with the love of the heart. Such love of neighbor brings glory to God.
5. Closing Story
Lights vary, but their source is the power of electricity. In this way, the lives of those who glorified God were diverse, but the main focus was to abandon my will and live according to God's will. But even though we know God's will well every moment of every day, we forsake it and live according to our own will. Tragedy. The completion of a new existence is <a life that abandons my will and lives according to the will of the Father>.
