Title: Go beyond Romans 8:1
Romans 8:1-2 ‘1. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus 2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death' - Amen.
As a Christian, what is the reason why you are not satisfied with your religious conflicts and all kinds of ways to solve problems? I think it's because my faith stayed until Romans 8:1. Martin Luther praised Romans as the “Golden Epistle” and theologians say it is the best book for apologizing for Christianity.
1. Look at Romans 1:1-8:1 and look at yourself
The book of Romans is Paul's epistle to Jews and converts to Jesuits. Historically, they are said to be descendants of Jews who were taken to Rome as prisoners of war in Pompeii before 61 B.C. There are many speculations as to when they came to Jerusalem or when they came to believe in the Jesuits, but in any case, the epistle to Romans to them was recorded as the best book for apologizing for Christianity. This book is a dramatic and continual record of human sin and God's measures against sin, the content of God's covenant, the existential sense of man who received the covenant, and the entire process of the mature life of the saints in chapters 1 to 16 in a dramatic and continuous manner. .
1: Regarding the sinfulness of fallen man and the decree of God's judgment
2: The objective sinfulness of being a sinner, whether Jew or Gentile
3: There is no way of salvation by law or by good works, but through the gate of faith.
4: Then explain how you should believe using the example of Abraham
5: The first Adam failed, but the second Adam was saved through Jesus.
6: The covenant of grace of atonement that our sins die with Jesus
7: Even after entering into this covenant of grace, the existence of man who still has to fight against sin
8:1 verse 1, up to this point, it is clearly stated that as a person of faith, we cannot enjoy peace and are in conflict. Then, as a saint who saw problem solving in the Holy Spirit, this book explains the attitude of life in the church and the sanctified life of living well as a mature person into the world.
2. Go beyond Romans 8:1 and receive the grace of the Holy Spirit
The Bible consists of the Old and New Testaments, prophecy and fulfillment, and faith is created by believing in the covenant of grace. However, even if the content of the truth touches the heart too much, if it does not work in my heart, conflicts arise. As there is a saying, 'A bead is a treasure that must be threaded through a horse', no matter how good the condition of the apartment subscription is, if you don't buy it as your home, it's just a piece of cake.
Text Romans 8:1 ‘There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus’. The reason for not being able to do so is in the following verse 2.
Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
The contrast between condemnation in verse 1 and liberation in verse 2 is in legal terms that the convicted person is set free and free from all legal restraints. Emancipation, ejleuqerovw, means release from responsibility for sin.
The law of sin and death means that we have now recovered from all the unacceptable sins before God and the misery caused by them. In the world, society does not accept death row prisoners as special envoys, but God does not leave those who have been redeemed in Christ in a miserable state any longer, but makes them prosper like the righteous. Freedom of the soul is the greatest blessing in life.
American revolutionary Patrick Henry (1775) said, "Give me liberty, or give me freedom or death" for political freedom, and it shows how precious freedom is in life. Spiritual freedom is more important.
Our trouble is that we only know God's covenant to set us free from our sins, trespasses, judgment and misery, and our souls are not freed. How can I solve this problem?
