Title: Go to Galilee (Matthew 28:9-20)
Content I. Place of Beginning (10)
Galilee was the starting point of faith for the disciples. It is the place where I first met Jesus and was called by Jesus. It is a place where I had a dream as a disciple and was moved. It was a place where I had confidence in Jesus and a burning passion.
When Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a tomb, the disciples' dreams and hopes were shattered. Scattered with fear and horror. He called them back to Galilee and expected a new start.
It was a call to restore the passion, conviction, dream and emotion that we started with and start over from the beginning.
II. place of frustration (10)
Galilee was a politically and socially and culturally isolated place, and it was a place suffering from poverty and suffering. Jesus came to Galilee. Jesus was their hope and future. When Jesus entered Jerusalem, he cried out Hosanna. He longed for the world to change when he became king.
But when he was crucified to death, they were utterly disappointed and frustrated. Jesus wants to go to Galilee where these people are.
It is to give them refreshment and to have courage to stand in the faith.
III. New Mission Place (16-20)
The reason the resurrected Jesus asked his disciples to meet him in Galilee was to give him a new mission for the whole world.
Jesus, who met the eleven disciples in Galilee, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the world. You said.
In other words, it is the place where the dream of world missionary work and the missionary mission to carry out the task were confirmed.
