Title: Go, your son lives. / John 4:45
Go, your son lived.
Today's text is a record of what happened when Jesus came to Cana in Galilee, the hometown of Jesus, through the city of Sychar in Samaria.
According to legend, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, went to Egypt for a while, then returned to Nazareth, where he grew up as a child, and then lived in Capernanum. Therefore, the hometown of Jesus is Galilee in a broad sense and Capernaum in a narrow sense.
But before he arrived in his hometown, Jesus testified that “a prophet is not exalted in his hometown.”
Nevertheless, today's text reads (John 4:45) When he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, because they also went to the feast and saw all that Jesus had done in Jerusalem during the feast.
This is because when Jesus was in Jerusalem during the feast, the Galileans also saw the miracles that Jesus performed in Jerusalem and realized the greatness of Jesus, so today the Galileans are accepting Jesus.
( 46-47 )
(John 4:46) When Jesus came back to Cana of Galilee, where water had been made into wine before, there was a king's servant, and his son became ill in Capernaum (John 4:47). When he heard that Jesus was coming to Galilee from Judea, he went I begged you, come down and heal my son. He was almost dead.
At this time, the king's servants refer to the servants of King Herod, and he was one of the very high nobles. This man came to seek the son of a poor carpenter in Galilee.
Although he was in a high position, regardless of his face or prestige, he came to Jesus and humbly fell on his face and begged.
Of course, when his beloved son died, he had no time to take care of his face or prestige, but it was not easy to come to Jesus in Galilee.
You cannot meet Jesus without giving up on yourself.
Only by looking to Jesus and relying only on Jesus can we meet Jesus.
He came to Jesus from afar.
Jesus was in Cana of Galilee, and the place where the king's servant's son was located was Capernaum, but it is about 80 li from Cana in Galilee to Capernaum.
He did not hesitate to come this far to meet Jesus.
In Acts 8, we see an eunuch from Ethiopia in the north of Africa.
Did you know that he came to Jerusalem to worship God?
It is a very long way from Ethiopia to Jerusalem. And the hot desert
This Ethiopian eunuch to God the long road that took several months to pass through the wilderness
It is a great passion to come to worship.
Let's take a look at how we are to worship before God.
I want
I believe that we should also attend the worship service with this passion and interest.
(John 4:48) Jesus said to them, “You will see signs and
If you do not see the article, you will not believe at all.
The king's servant is a person who does not believe in Jesus, so he came to Jesus in hopes that signs and wonders would happen only for the purpose of raising his dying son.
Jesus knows this center
Unless you see signs and knights
He said he would never believe.
And although he came to Jesus to heal his dying son,
Jesus eventually saved him through this opportunity.
Tribulation and suffering are really painful, but sometimes, because God uses them as a means of salvation, there are times when tribulation or suffering is actually a blessing.
(John 4:50) Jesus said to him, “Go, your son is alive.” The man believed what Jesus had said and went away.
He believed in these words of Jesus and went. Most people would have asked Jesus to heal his dying son.
But he said that he believed the words of Jesus and went.
Through faith, you will meet miracles.
When the Israelites crossed the Jordan River, they did not cross a river that was already divided.
When carrying the ark and stepping on the flowing river, we met the history of the river splitting.
General Naaman had faith and washed himself seven times in the Jordan River.
My body was clean.
In Luke 17, even the lepers were not healed by Jesus on the spot.
They simply believe in the word to go to the priest and show their body, and when they go
You can tell it's clean.
When we believe and obey in this way, we will encounter the great power of God.
Jesus said that if anyone repents, their sins are forgiven.
Then we must truly believe that all our sins are forgiven.
He also said that when we repent, we not only forgive, but we do not remember our sins. What signs or evidence would you need here?
In Mark 6, when Jesus called the twelve disciples, gave them authority over unclean spirits, and sent them out two by two as God's witnesses, the disciples
He said that he believed the word and went forth preaching the gospel to repent, casting out demons, and healing many diseases.
The king's servant believed only the words of Jesus and on his way back home, he met the servants of the household who were just coming out looking for this servant.
You will receive the surprising news that you are alive. So when the sick asked for a better time
The time was yesterday at seven o'clock, around 1:00 PM our time, and this time is
Realize that it is the hour that Jesus said to go, that your son was alive.
It is said that this official and his whole family came to believe in Jesus.
(Romans 10:11) The Bible says, "Whoever believes in him
whoever sleeps will not be put to shame.
(Romans 10:13) Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved
No matter how many sins and how lacking, believe in Jesus Christ and stand before Jesus
I firmly believe that if you come to me, you will surely be saved.
Through today's text, we learn the following lessons.
First, God sometimes uses afflictions to save us.
that you allow pain
There are people who will not listen to anything if left arrogant human beings.
Sometimes you just don't want to listen to what other people are saying.
These people cannot be saved if they are left alone.
At that time, through suffering, you will collapse and come before the absolute God.
We know a lot of things.
The tribulation and suffering at this time is rather a blessing.
Second, faith works miracles.
A woman suffering from bleeding is healed by just touching Jesus' clothes. At this time, there were many other people besides the woman who touched Jesus' clothes.
But nothing happened to the others, but only this woman, who had touched by faith, was healed.
We are saved through faith and our prayers are answered through faith.
(Hebrews 11:6) Without faith it is impossible to please
He who comes to God must know that he is, and that he rewards those who diligently seek him.
You must believe in this
Third, in the words of Jesus, the absolute
You have to believe that you have power.
The centurion in Matthew 8 believed in Jesus' authority and came to his
When you ask to heal a servant
(Matthew 8:7) He said, "I will go and heal you." (Matthew 8:8) The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my house; just say the word, and my servant will be healed." (Matthew 8:8) :9) I, too, am a man under the control of others, and there are soldiers under me. When I say to one go, I go; and to another, I say, “Come,” and they come and I say to my servant, “Do this,” and they say (Matthew 8:10) When Jesus heard it, he marveled at it and said to those who followed, “I Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith in any of Israel.
Jesus praised the centurion's faith. And
We know that his servant is well. This is the result of faith.
Finally
If anyone comes to Jesus in times of tribulation and temptation and calls out to Him, it will surely be a transgression.
When you have tribulation and temptation, first of all, if you come to Jesus and cry out,
When you receive great grace and receive grace, you will come to understand God.
So I started to repent of my sins, and all the walls between God and me were broken down.
You will receive God's blessing and experience experiential faith through grace.
As we experience the work of God working in our lives today,
It is to become a person of great faith.
We must know that our faith grows stronger and stronger through difficulties.
The finished pottery goes into the hot fire and comes out
It gives off a beautiful light and becomes more and more solid and of great value.
Therefore, the current difficulty is to receive God's love.
Think of it as the effort of unpacking the gift wrapping paper and overcome these difficulties
Endure it with thanksgiving and come to God with more faith
Please pray earnestly.
Today God is waiting for your prayers.
Please believe that God is preparing blessings for you.
