Title: God's Answer/ Job 2:10

Contents God's answer/ Job 2:10

Key Verse: “If we have received a blessing from God, shall we not receive disaster?” (Job 2:10).

Word: There was a man named Job in the land of Uz, who was an honest and upright man who feared God and shunned evil. Especially in the midst of great misfortune, Job did not blame God.

Today, I would like to share some graces through Job's faithful life. First, there are times in life when people experience pain and suffering for no apparent reason. “Why do I have to live so poorly? Why do accidents like this happen in our house? Why is this happening to our children? Why was my child born with a mental retardation?”

There are times when we are in trouble. But there are also times when we receive blessings without knowing why. How can I claim that I am a person who should not be unhappy and deserve to be happy? Second, Job trusted in God until the end, despite the unexplained calamity. Then, in 13:15, he faithfully confesses his faith, saying, “He will kill me, but I trust in him.”

A week later, Job's friends rebuke Job and Job's refutation of him continue for nearly 30 chapters. Friends say that Job's misfortune was because he had sinned, so he said, "Repent." Job cries out before God and his friend. They cry out to God and pour out their distressed feelings.

Then the Lord speaks to Job from the storm. “You answer what I ask you, where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Who made the rain and the clouds and the lightning and the frost and the dew? Who feeds and cares for all kinds of animals and birds? Do you know why I made a hippo and why I made a crocodile?”

I want you to throw away the narrow thinking that such a result occurs for some reason and accept that there are God's will and plans that humans cannot understand.

Hearing God's word, Job confesses, "I have only heard of you with my ears, but now I see with my eyes." And repent of yourself. To the question ‘Why me?’, God does not answer, but instead shows God and tells us that it is important to believe that God is with us. Please put more trust in the God who created the world and promised to be with you to the end of the world.

Prayer: God, like Job, I want to live a life completely dependent on God. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
