The army of God who knows the times (1 Chronicles 12:1-40)
The world is changing. Globally, the culture our children will inherit will be very different from today.
1. God's Army
(1) This text records the warriors who played a key role in winning the war after David ascended to the throne as king of Israel.
(2) When David was king of the tribe of Judah and was in Hebron, all the tribes of Israel came to him and established David as king of Israel (2 Samuel 2:1-7).
2. A great army gathered to David (verses 16-22)
(1) People came to David every day to help him. It was like the army of God (verse 22).
(2) The power of ‘being together’ If God had not helped David, no one would have helped David. Therefore, blessed is he who does not make men his help, but has the God of Jacob as his helper (Psalm 146:5).
3. Characteristics of God's army (verses 23-34)
(1) God's army is a faithful and prepared man (verses 23-31).
(2) You must know the market price (verse 32).
⑶ You must be able to actually fight without being double-minded (verse 33).
⑷ Our hearts must become one (verse 38).
4. King David's accession and Israel's joy (verses 38-40)
(1) The warriors and the people who came to David from each tribe made David king over Israel in Hebron (verse 38).
(2) There is great joy in those who move forward with one heart and one goal (verse 40).
God wants not only to call His children, but to raise them up into His army.
God's army must be prepared as faithful ones. We need to discern this era. You must be able to actually go out into the world and keep your faith without having a double heart. And we must build up a church community with one heart. Then God helps. God has assigned people to help from all directions. The true festival of joy belongs to those who are victorious, enjoyed by those who are armed with the armies of God. Our nation's future blessings depend on God's army.
