Title: God's Comfort Is Greater Than Suffering
Contents
Worship for the first time in 2007.^^
Depending on your attitude and inspection, your life can change a hundred percent.
There will be hardships and adversity this year too, but rather than hoping that there will be no troubles, let's become a person who can ride and play in the waves of hardship. Let's look at God's hand that is greater than suffering. 2 Corinthians 1 is a book of comfort.
What is the secret to becoming God's people who are victorious in the midst of suffering?
What does suffering mean to us?
1) If we seek God's comfort, which is greater than suffering, we can win.
2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy and the God of all comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:4 comfort us in all our afflictions
In 2 Corinthians 1, the word comfort appears 10 times, and the terms tribulation, suffering, and suffering appear 9 times. No matter how hard it is to come 9 times, if God comforts you 10 times, you will be victorious.
sympathy - The word sympathy and the word comfort are different. The word sympathy literally means to feel sorry for. But consolation,
comforter - com(=together) + fort(=force)+er
God who gives com (together) with fort (strength)... This is the meaning of comfort.
If God is with us, no matter what situation we are in, we can overcome.
Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD will go before you; he will be with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.
In a difficult situation, say, "God, be with me."
ex) King Hezekiah - When you are besieged by Sennacherib's army, pray and be saved.
No job, no marriage... But are you in a crisis like Hezekiah? No matter how difficult it is, seek God's comfort to overcome the suffering.
2) In the midst of suffering, God refines us.
2 Corinthians 1:11 Help ye also by making intercession for us, so that many may give thanks for us for the gift which we obtained through the prayers of many.
23:10 He knows the way I go, and after he has tested me I will come out like gold.
How can you come out like gold without being refined?
ex) Mendelssohn: Light. You can listen while eating.
Beethoven: It is solemn. It's too deep to listen to while eating. Why? Because he knew what hardship was.
3) If you suffer, you will serve others.
2 Corinthians 1:4 who comforts us in all our afflictions, so that with the comfort we receive from God, we are able to comfort those in all our afflictions.
A person in tribulation can comfort others. - Wounded healer.
It's good to go rough when you're young. It's good to suffer.
ex) Helen Keller - A friend went for a walk and asked what Helen Keller had seen, but she was shocked to find out that there was not much to see and wrote a book. "If I could see you for three days..." - First, I would see Mr. Sullivan's face, then the sunset, then the flowers. On the second day, the sunrise scene, I want to go to a museum and see paintings. On the third day, I want to see the faces of people who go to work.
It is said that even the purchasers do the hardships of being young. Let's be young and suffer
There are some things that are not good to know in advance. -Sex, Money- It is not correct to talk about real estate from the mouth of a 20-something. It is not right for a mid-teenager to know what sex they should know in their mid-20s. By doing so, there are stories that say that life is boring. To live a life free from boredom, you have to live a life of service.
Suffering never weakens us. Our children must be brought up in a tough way. In the midst of this, we need to teach them how much work we can do if God is with us.
Prayer) In 2007, let God's victory, refinement, and service be stronger than suffering. I pray in Jesus name amen.
