Title: God's commandments that must be restored!

The commandments of God that must be restored and kept!

Text/ Deuteronomy 30:11-20

1. Introduction

God's commandments are fading away. God's commandments tend to be treated as old, moldy proverbs that do not have to be kept in the name of legalism. Is that true? Esu said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I did not come to abolish it, but to make it perfect. > said. Commandments are not proverbs. not the law. It is a command from the living God that everyone must obey.

2. Why did God give the commandments?

God did not give the commandments to afflict and burden his beloved people, but for their happiness (Deuteronomy 10:13). And by keeping that commandment, he said, “It was given to make the people of this great nation an object of envy so that all nations and nations would say, “The people of this great nation are indeed a people of wisdom and knowledge.” Deuteronomy 4:6.

It is God's promise that if you keep God's commandments, you will live a happy life, full of wisdom and knowledge, and live a blessed life that is respected and praised by all people.

3. Why do people not keep such good commandments?

As you read the text, you read a very strange part. It's all over Deuteronomy 30:15-19, keep the commandments of Moses sisterly and verbosely! Keep the commandments! And that's the part I'm emphasizing. It's strange to put so much emphasis on it when it's not necessary. Because who will not be happy, prosperous, and long-lived? If you keep the commandments, you will receive all the blessings, but who will not keep the commandments? No is it?

However, another strange and strange thing is that even though it is said that keeping the commandments is so good, even looking back on the history of Israel and our own lives, we have chosen only the path of blessing, prosperity, and longevity and have chosen only the path that will surely perish. Why? The Apostle Paul explains the reason clearly in Romans 7:7-25. It is because of our sins. Because of sin, we love the commandments of God in our hearts, but in reality we are living in disobedience to the commandments of God. So keep the commandments as Moses did! Keep the commandments! and emphasized and re-emphasized.

3. What is the message of the text?

first. It is to clarify the original meaning of the obscured commandment again. You must realize that keeping the commandments is not a religious duty or burden, but the basic ground for living with blessings. Grace and commandment are one, not two. Commandments without grace are legalism and asceticism, but grace without commandments is indulgence and depravity.

second. Commandments are common sense. God's commandments, such as the Code of Contracts (Ex. 2022-23:19), the Ten Commandments (Deut. 5:1-21), the Code of Deuteronomy (Deuteronomy 12:1-26:19), and the Code of Purity (Leviticus 17-26), once again Read on. Is it difficult to understand? Are these sounds for people from other countries? These are easy and natural commandments that anyone can keep if they want to keep them. It is common sense that people who live with their neighbors should follow.

However, it is difficult to keep the commandments in the Korean church these days! Commandments are the atmosphere of old-fashioned relics that worked in the past but do not work today. Of course, there is that part. It is only a part of the cultural product of the time, but the spirit of the law is still there. For example, if a cow has received a cow, there is a law requiring the owner to compensate the cow. The modern expression of this law is that if a car is given someone else's car, the lessee pays for it. Is it a relic of an old time? It's common sense.

third. Individuals and societies who keep the commandments are greatly blessed. Today, Korea is said to be lagging behind in scientific fields such as aerospace science, biotechnology, and communication technology. Even worse and more dangerous is cultural competitiveness. Lack of sense of order, day and night, as I please, 高聲放歌, 眼下歌, anti-rebellious attitude, garbage dumping, reckless spitting, destruction of public facilities, bribes, poor welfare, irresponsibility, etc. It is the advanced media's assessment that it is a country that does not do so, a country of total insolvency and total injustice.

The commandment of God is that those who come early will come early, and those who come late will be late. Those who work hard a lot, and those who work a little work less. This is the tooth, the eye is the eye. Really fair and clear. Common sense. Today, the time has come when we need a common sense individual and a common sense society. Commandments are common sense. He promised that individuals, societies, and churches with common sense will survive, prosper, and be blessed (Deuteronomy 30:16).

4. Closing story

A kite that is broken from a kite can no longer soar high into the sky. Cows without kotours have no choice but to be taken to the slaughterhouse. Those who do not have the commandments will inevitably perish.
