Title: God's Commands and Promises

content addition>

God's commands and promises (Deuteronomy 11:1-32)

1. Recall the history of the Exodus (vv. 1-9).

(1) The history of Israel when it came out of Egypt (verses 2-3). It was to testify that Israel escaped the plagues of death with the blood of the Passover lamb, especially when the Egyptian army sent by Pharaoh king of Egypt pursued them when Israel crossed the Red Sea and was destroyed in the Red Sea (verses 4 and 5 ). ). In particular, we remember the incidents of Dathan and Abiram, who opposed God (verse 6). We must remember and obey the work of salvation (verse 7).

(2) Therefore, we must obey God's commands to receive blessings (verse 8). Also, those who obey God's command will receive the blessings of longevity (verse 9).

2. Be obedient to obtain the land of blessing (vv. 10-17).

(1) What kind of land was the promised land of Canaan that God wanted to give to Israel? (verse 10) It was a land that absorbed the rain from heaven (verse 11). From the beginning of the year to the end of the year, the eyes of the Lord are always with you (verse 12).

(2) To receive God's blessing, we must love and serve God (verse 13).

He promised to send the latter rain especially the early rain on the earth to those who obey God (vv.

A word of warning: Do not forsake God (verses 16-17)

3. Foretells blessings and curses (vv. 18-25).

(1) The way to keep God's word is to put it on a person's heart and put it on his wrist and forehead (verse 18).

(2) Shema education: I will teach my children, and I will preach ignorantly (verse 19).

Make the Bible the center of your home (verse 20).

If you educate the Bible in this way, you will gain a mighty kingdom (verses 21-25).

4. Choose a blessing (verses 26-32).

(1) Moses foretold blessings and curses to the Israelites (verses 26-28).

(2) When we proclaim blessings and curses, we must choose blessings (verses 29-32).

How should we receive this counsel? I have to apply it in the reality of my history.

Today we must not hesitate between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal.

I hope it will be a time for all of us to conclude a covenant of blessing.

“I will obey God’s commands.” Amen!!
