Title: God's Covenant
Bible: 1 Kings 9:1-9
Starting Point of the Word>>
This time, we would like to share the word with the title of “God’s Covenant” through the words of the text.
The beginning of today's text begins when Israel's long-cherished project, 'building the castle' and 'building the royal palace', was completed, God appeared to King Solomon and heard his prayers and supplications for the temple, and the word of the covenant. You can see that giving
God answers prayers and supplications.
Jeremiah 33:3 says,
“Call to you, and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know.”
You said.
According to Psalm 121:1-2,
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where does my help come from? My help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth.”
Said.
The God who helps me, the God who made the heavens and the earth, has promised that if I stand before the Father, He will give me the grace to overcome everything.
Looking at the process of building the temple in Israel, it was the long-cherished project of David, the second king of Israel.
However, God did not allow him to build a temple because he shed much blood through war.
However, King David made all the preparations for the building of the temple, and passed on the preparations to the next king, Solomon.
In other words, all preparations for the building of the temple were made by King David, but it was Solomon's responsibility to build it.
Sometimes, when we are serving in God's church, we have prepared hard for the work, but there are times when God entrusts the work to other saints.
On the other hand, there are times when I have to do what other saints have prepared.
In times like these, we should not be those who complain about other saints and give up on God's work, but like David and Solomon, we should be the ones who rejoice and give thanks for being able to handle it.
Today, when the temple was built through King Solomon, God gave the word of the covenant to King Solomon.
I hope that the word of the covenant today will be the word of the covenant given to me and all of our members.

So, what is God's covenant with King Solomon today?
First, God gave the covenant that He would always be in the temple.
If we look at verse 3 of the text,
"And the LORD said to him, "Because I have heard your prayer and your supplication before me, I will consecrate this temple that you have built, and I will set my name there forever, and my eyes and my heart will always be there."
You said.
God is the Holy One who is with you forever in the house of God.
For Israel, the temple is the dwelling place of the eternal God.
They devoted themselves to worshiping, praying, and praising in God's temple.
The people of Israel visited the temple to meet God every season.
But there are things we need to be careful of.
That is indeed the meaning of the temple in today's Word.
According to 1 Corinthians 3:16,
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
Paul says we must realize that we are the temple of God.
What does the temple mean, it means the heart of the saints where the Spirit of God dwells and is with them.
That is why we must become saints who reveal the righteousness of God with all our heart, all our mind, and all our soul.
Also, the church calls the place where you and I are worshiping together now as the temple.
Today, the meaning of the temple is open to many, but in the past it was a very difficult place to worship.
We, who are God's temples, will gather to make another large temple.
In this way, God wants to be glorified through the saints gathered in God's name and the temple.
And when it becomes a temple that reveals the glory of God, He promised that He would always be with the temple.
Second, He promised that if we keep our hearts and minds upright and keep God's words and laws, He will strengthen our throne.
Look at verse 5 of the text.
“I will establish your throne over your Israel forever, just as I said to your father David, ‘No one will be cut off from you to be king over Israel.
When Solomon's wealth and fame flourished through God's wisdom and grace, God knew that Solomon could easily fall through arrogance, extravagance, and self-indulgence, and told him to keep his faith completely as David did for the purpose of caution.
If we look at the words of verse 4,
He said, “If you keep your heart pure and upright and walk before me, as David your father did, obeying all things as I have commanded you, violating my laws and decrees.” If you keep these words, you will keep the throne forever. you say you will
The first condition for that is to have a perfect heart.
The word “perfect” means perfection, sincerity, and strength, and it means to strengthen your heart toward God.
The next thing is to “do it right”.
This means walking straight on the road and living an honest life.
Finally, he commanded us to keep the laws and ordinances and obey the Word of God.
We must become obedient saints by obeying the word of the Lord.
There is a saying, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood.”
Now, we must become saints who live like kings and priests on this earth, and we must become saints who pass on the same legacy of faith to our descendants.
I ask that you become believers who realize that this is only possible when you live a life of perfecting your heart, making it right, and obeying the Word.
Third, he said that if you forsake God and serve idols, you will become a laughing stock.
This is the text of verses 6-7.
“If your descendants turn away from me and do not keep my commandments and decrees that I have set before you, and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them, and I will sanctify them for my name’s sake. Even this temple that I have set apart will be thrown away before me, and Israel shall become a proverb and a story of conversation among all nations.”
You said.
From the moment God's people leave God's bosom, they will already sit on the seat of judgment.
The course of our lives becomes the proverb of the world.
By betraying the God who had kept Israel until now, God made them into the proverbs of the world.
He also said that he makes it a topic of discussion.
These words are meant to be ridiculed and ridiculed by all peoples, and it is an expression of the miserable appearance.
Even today, God blesses the obedient above all nations, but makes the disobedient and idolatrous person a laughing stock.
Sometimes even those who serve Jesus well go through various hardships and sufferings and are ridiculed by those who do not believe in the Lord.
However, since this is what Jesus is training and refining in order to give greater missions and blessings, if we discern God's will and keep our faith with patience, Jesus will give us greater grace.
At the end of the speech>>
Today we live a life of faith, so we must become saints who live by receiving God's covenant.
Just as King Solomon received God's precious covenant by completing the temple, I hope that we too will remain in a stronger position of faith and become believers who enjoy the grace of God's covenant.
Also, I pray in the name of the Lord that your faith will grow into a more precious faith every day through this grace of God.
