Title: God's Dove 2 (Matthew 3:16-17)

2. This case and our relationship
This event shows us the gift the king gives to his people. There is nothing that Christ monopolizes. Christ received the Holy Spirit to spread it throughout the world. Our Lord gives us whatever we receive from the Father.
The gift that Christ bestows upon men is the Spirit of life that dwells in his humanity, purifies and preserves it. This notion is the highest idea to have when thinking about what the gospel can do for us.
If you are content to think of the gospel as a mere means of escape from wrath, then you do not understand the meaning of the gospel.
The grace of forgiveness through the cross of Christ is a very important gift as the first part of our mercy. But if you think that the only gift of Christ's cross is forgiveness through the sacrifice of the cross, you do not fully understand the meaning of the gospel.
We must go higher than that. If we are to understand “grace unspeakable,” we must know that the gospel is that the Lord gives Himself through the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts as the Spirit of our lives.
The assimilation by receiving supernatural life from our Lord is the teaching of Pentecost. Christ is our life. “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death”.
Therefore, to all Christians in the New Testament the same language is used for the Lord.
- Is Christ the Son of God? Christians also became sons of God through Christ.
- Is Christ the High Priest? Christians are also priests to God.
- Is Christ the light of the world? Christians, too, are the light of the world that shines wherever they live.
- Is Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, or the Anointed One? Christ has anointed us in Himself. “You are anointed by the bastard and know all things” (1 John 2:20). Therefore, it can be seen that the purpose of Christ's coming is to make us all little Christs, the anointed of God.
This expression is not arrogance, it is an expression of undoubted wisdom. We can be little Christ because Christ Himself dwells in us through His Holy Spirit.
Christ can give you this Holy Spirit. This is something that no other teacher in the world can do. Teachers can teach the art of imitation. They can make people into some kind of copy of their personality for a while. They can give human beings the principles on which they have lived.
However, it is impossible to continue to inherit the spirit of the Great Teacher. Elisha said to Elijah, "I ask for double your inspiration." Then Elijah, knowing the limits of the human relationship that exists between the master and the disciple, only hesitated and shook his head, saying, "You are asking for a difficult thing. Perhaps you may or may not get it. But I will not be reducing it to you." [Korean Translation - "But if you see me taken from you, it will work for you, but otherwise it will not be"].
But Christ said, "I give my spirit to you all."
Let us also remember that this symbol contains blessed teachings, reproofs and precepts concerning ourselves. This dove-like Holy Spirit can be given to all of us if we want to.
What does it mean? Let us meditate on the different meanings of this symbol for a long time. They will all be delighted to teach you important lessons.
1) Our human mind is like the original chaos before the existing orderly universe was formed.
Formless horrors and swirling darkness full of dead monsters, disordered wills, rebellious desires, broken consciences, darkened perceptions all kinds of chaos are our human state of mind.
If anyone wishes, the Spirit of God will come upon this state of mind to revive him, reduce chaos to order, and illuminate his cloud-covered darkness.
The dove that has embraced and enveloped the Land of Chaos to create an orderly universe will embrace your nature and re-create it as a whole. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has taken away; behold, the new has come."
Beloved, what is your state of mind? Creator Holy Spirit, create a pure heart in me.
2) Second, this symbol gives us another hope that is the same and distinct.
The dove is a symbol of purity and a clean animal that can be used as a sacrifice. This is a characteristic of the inspired doctrine of the Bible. This distinguishes it from all pagan and secular ideas of a similar kind. In other words, biblical inspiration lays morality before it. And the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, wisdom, and power, is first of all the Spirit of holiness.
Therefore, if a person is not clean, no matter how gifted, wise, strong intellect, supernatural or miraculous, he is without the Holy Spirit of God.
The dove is coming. Where the dove comes, there is peace, purity, and regeneration. If a person does not have the spirit of holiness, then he is not a person of Christ.
- from some outstanding talent,
- In clairvoyance or insight that pierces the mystery,
- in fluent and sweet eloquence,
- in agile dexterity,
- It is not manifested in any other gift that the world lauds as inspiration.
If the Holy Spirit of God is in you, he will purify you. And we will have peace and a spirit of sacrifice.
3) Furthermore, for the people as well as for Christ the King, the pigeon that seals the coronation of the king and dwells in the people is the Spirit of gentleness and tenderness.
This is the true power. Silent light is stronger than all thunderbolts. Therefore, the Holy Spirit who is the 'Spirit of Love' is the 'Spirit of Power'.
The true type of Christian character that the gospel creates is humble and plain, unobtrusive and unobtrusive by the world's ideal, the glamorous, lowly beauty.
The pearls of the pigeon's neck, the peaceful blue light of the dove's feathers, look modest and docile compared to the splendid parrots and the ferocious birds. Likewise, the character of a Christian who is patient, meek, gentle, and not arrogant, appears weak and humble when placed next to the worldly accolades.
But meekness is the strongest, and meekness will finally triumph. This is because Christ and His disciples advance to universal and universal power through universal and universal love.
4) One last thing I want to say about the meaning of this symbol is the fact that Noah's dove came back to the ark with an olive leaf.
I mentioned this a bit earlier, but I'll add a little more here. This is a kind of prophecy that foreshadows the beauty and greenness of the whole world. The dove that comes to us while biting the leaf of the tree of life in the center of God's paradise serves as a security deposit for the corporation we will receive until the day of redemption.
All the gifts of the Holy Spirit of God, such as the gift of holiness, the gift of gentleness, the gift of wisdom and truth, and the gift of peace, are a foretaste of the perfect and impeccable kingdom of heaven.
To us sailing on the gloomy sea, the Holy Spirit comes to us after hearing the message about a distant country, the beautiful garden of God where the blessed saints play.
Beloved, we must not forget that whether we have this Spirit of God or not depends on one condition. That is, we must have Christ as our own in humble faith.
If anyone believes in Christ, he will come and plant his Holy Spirit in our hearts. Without him, our human heart is nothing more than a cage of filthy and detestable birds.
But when the gentle dove of God is present, the filthy nocturnal animals that stand and cry will be cast out, and their hearts will be layered with the fruits of the Spirit: peace, purity, gentleness, and hope.
What is your state of mind? Let us be in a blessed state of mind by being filled with the Holy Spirit. - Hallelujah Amen -
