Title: God's Extreme Love
Zep 3:16 In that day a man shall say to Jerusalem, Fear not, O Zion.
don't let your hands hang down
Zep 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, who will save you.
Almighty, he did not rejoice over you,
He loves you quietly and will rejoice over you with singing and rejoicing.
will do
Zep 3:18 I will gather those who are grieved over the assembly, and they will belong to you.
Grow up, and your disgrace has become a burden to them.
Zep 3:19 At that time I will punish all who trouble you, and I will save the lame,
...to gain praise and fame. ....to gain fame and praise.
I am the LORD, saith the LORD.
God's love for us is infinite and unchanging. This supreme love of God is manifested in various shapes and forms.
This love of God is shown in today's text.
Looking at what the people of Israel did, they should all be punished, but when God looks at the remnant of the people who have saved them from judgment, He did not punish them all.
God's love is more intense and abundant than ever before.
On the Day of Judgment, the remnant of Israel will see God's judgment and will be terrified and terrified, and their hands will hang down like exhausted people.
God is giving these people comfort and courage through prophets. If you look at verse 16, do not be afraid. I tell you not to let your hands hang down.
As we live our religious life, sometimes great things happen that we cannot handle. In business, in our family, we lose our minds. We lose our strength. We lose our hands. In this situation, under any circumstances, do not have a powerless appearance. The reason is given in verse 17 below.
It is because the Lord our God is among us.
If the Almighty Jehovah is among us, we have nothing to fear if we have the confidence that he is here with us right now. As long as you have a strong belief that God is with you, you can live a powerful life in any equilibrium. You can start fresh.
The God who is with us and is with us, who is the Lord who gives us strength and is our strength?
1. He is the Almighty who will provide salvation.
“He is the Almighty who will save.”
The word salvation is used in various ways in the Bible. Salvation from the forgiveness of sins, from sickness to health, from poverty to wealth, from suffering, from enemies, from the judgment of God. From death to life.
When the people of Israel came to God's salvation from Egypt and came to the Jordan River, they encamped and thanked God for God's oppressive grace, while the Egyptian soldiers followed and attacked them. The Red Sea is in front of you. The Israelites forget God's oppressive grace of salvation, become afraid of the Egyptian soldiers, cry out to God, and blame Moses. Then the prophet Moses said:
Exodus 14:13 Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid; stand still.
See the salvation the Lord will work for you today.
I will never see again the Egyptian I saw today.
14 The LORD will fight for you; be still.
How did the Lord fight for the Israelites?
By fire, by wind, by water, by the power of God...
In 2 Chronicles 20, Ammon and Moab united to attack during the reign of King Jehoshaphat.
Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast to all the people and to pray to God.
The king and the people pray. God, we do not have the strength to resist this great crowd that is attacking us, and we do not know how to do it, but we look to you. At this time, God speaks.
2 Chronicles 20:17 In this war you have nothing to fight; stand in line
See the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, Judah and Jerusalem.
Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed; go face them tomorrow.
Yahweh will be with you.”
When Ammon and Moab united to attack Judah, the inhabitants of Mount Seir fought a battle. After the combined forces of Ammon and Moab defeated Seir, they fought among themselves, and not one survived, but annihilated.
The people of Judah watched from the tower and took only the treasure they had left behind for three days (verse 25).
Matthew 1:21 For it is he who will save his people from their sins.
Romans 5:9 Now then, since we are justified by his blood,
much more shall we be saved from wrath through him.
John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that
that whoever believes should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:17 God sent his Son into the world to judge the world.
No, that the world might be saved through him.
How can God, who is with us, provide such salvation?
Who is God with us? Almighty
The God who is with us, the God who is with me is the Almighty who grants salvation.
Today, I pray that you will become saints living in God's blessing of salvation.
2. He is a God who cannot overcome joy because of us.
In the parables Jesus taught, He spoke of how much God loves His people.
In the parable of the found sheep, the found drachma, and the son who came back recorded in Luke 15, how much God rejoices over us is well shown.
When I live according to the Word in Christ, God who is with us cannot overcome joy. God is not pleased with how miserable we are in this world, but God who is with us is infinitely pleased when we live by faith even in the midst of difficulties. You will surely be blessed.
3. He loves us quietly.
The love of God who created us and made us His children is expressed in various ways in the Bible. The entire Bible is an expression of God's love for us.
It is also an expression of love that God the Son chose and called and came to this earth in a human body.
judge, judge Repent and return in order not to be judged. It is God's love to speak through the prophet Zephaniah.
As it is in Isaiah 1:18, “Come, let us reason, saith the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be like wool” is God’s calling through the prophet. Love.
Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2:3-5 “In the midst of them we all lived according to the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the body and mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like others, but the great love that God, who is rich in mercy, loved us. We, who were dead in trespasses because of him, made us alive together with Christ, and by grace you have been saved.
1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as a propitiation for our sins.”
We are God's precious children who are loved by God in this way.
Are you sure that you are receiving the unchanging love of God?
concluding remarks
The words of God through the prophet Zephaniah will judge you if you do not turn from your sins. This judgment is so thorough and frightening that no one can escape. But I will leave all unjudgmented. And whether the remnant remain in Judea or be taken captive in Babylon, the Lord your God will be with you to save you, to take pleasure in you and to love you in silence.
In verses 19-20, God promises to bless you.
Zep 3:19 At that time I will punish all those who trouble you, and those who are lame
To save, to gather the outcasts, to be reproached in all the world.
will bring praise and fame
Zep 3:20 At that time I will bring you, and then I will gather you together.
When your captivity is restored from your sight, you will be among all the peoples under the world.
to fame and praise, saith the LORD.
Almighty God who gives salvation today, God who pleases me, and God who loves us, I pray that you will gain fame and praise both on this earth and in the kingdom of God.
