Title: God's Eye (Amos 2:1~8)
Contents
The world thinks that God is a God that exists only in Christianity.
Church-going Jesuits believe that the God they believe is God.
However, God is not a God that exists only for those who believe in Jesus, but He is a God who exists and works for all peoples and peoples of this world.
The Amos Bible teaches these facts well.
Amos chapters 1 and 2 record that God judges not only the people of Israel, but also other nations who did not believe in God but worshiped foreign gods.
Damascus, Philistia, Tire, Edom, Ammon, Moab... These peoples are not people who serve God. Rather, they were peoples who worshiped other gods that God had strictly forbidden.
It means that God's sovereignty and severe judgment will come to those who were living a life that had nothing to do with God.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 says, "God will judge every deed and every secret thing, good or evil."
It is saying that every nation and every person in this world will one day be judged by God because of their own deeds.
Moab appearing in today's text will be judged for the evil deeds of encroaching on the neighboring Edom, destroying the tomb of the Edom king, and burning the bones of the dead body to ashes.
This has nothing to do with serving God, but it is a ruthless evil that human beings should not do. God judges even the cruel and inhumane acts in human affairs for good and evil. This is because God is the only God and Judge among all nations and all peoples.
On the other hand, Judas in verses 4-5 is judged for other reasons.
“For three or four sins of Judah, I will not undo the punishment, because they despise the law of the LORD, and do not keep his ordinances, and are deceived by the lies that his fathers followed.”
The reason why the Jewish people were judged by God was because they despised and did not keep the word of God.
We Christians need to remember that there are judgments for not obeying the Word of God other than judgment for works.
Living honestly and upright with justice is a life principle that applies to believers and unbelievers alike.
However, in addition to that, Christians have a stricter standard of judgment.
It is the Word of God.
Failure to live according to God's Word becomes the reason for judgment. Therefore, we must live without forgetting the Word of God. You must meditate on the Word every day and live by engraving the Word well on the board of your heart.
“Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it, so that you may prosper and prosper in your way” (Joshua 1:8).
The secret of a prosperous life, a successful life, and a life of blessing does not depend on working hard, but on living by keeping the word of God.
God is watching over every nation, every nation, and every person in the world today.
If God's gaze feels frightening and frightening, it is because there is sin in my life.
This is because there is an aspect of unbelief that does not live according to the word of God.
I hope that you and I will live our lives right and live according to God's word so that we can become objects of blessing and love, not of God's judgment.
How do you feel the way God sees you?
